In today's fast-paced world, maintaining focus is a challenge. Attention Span Science explores the reasons behind our declining attention spans and provides evidence-based strategies for improvement. The book delves into the impact of distractions, the brain functions involved in attention, and the effects of cognitive overload, offering a comprehensive understanding of why we struggle to concentrate. For example, the book details how our brains have attentional networks that collaborate to maintain focus. It then progresses through types of distractions, brain functions, cognitive overload, and finally, practical techniques for improved attention.

Attention Span Science distinguishes itself by providing a holistic approach, integrating insights from various disciplines to offer a clear, accessible guide for enhancing focus and cognitive performance. Attention Span Science moves beyond simple solutions, offering knowledge to make informed decisions about cognitive health. It provides a structured approach, beginning with the fundamentals of focus and concentration, then exploring internal and external distractions. Racism remains a significant political and societal issue that is often overlooked. It is up to us to ensure it receives the attention it deserves. As an anti-racist advocate, I explore the repulsive nature of racism and how the government has historically contradicted itself on this issue. This book aims to educate and inspire support for the activist movement to end racism. By reading this work and contributing financially, you can help further these efforts and support my ongoing advocacy. I am committed to raising awareness and continuing to write, a freedom that cannot be taken away. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management from Tiffin University and an Associate's Degree in Management Technology.

The Trials of Madame Restell -...

For forty years in the mid-nineteenth century, “Madame Restell,” the nom de guerre of the most successful female physician in America, sold birth-control medication, attended women during their pregnancies, delivered their children, and performed abortions in a series of clinics run out of her home in New York City. It was the abortions that made her famous. “Restellism” became the term her detractors used to indict her. Restell began practicing when abortion was largely unregulated in most of the United States, including New York. But as a sense of disquiet arose about single women flocking to the city for work, greater sexual freedoms, changing views of the roles of motherhood and childhood, and fewer children being born to white, married, middle-class women, Restell came to stand for everything that threatened the status quo. From 1829 onward, restrictions on abortion began to put Restell in legal jeopardy. For much of this period, she prevailed—until she didn’t. A story that is all too relevant to the current attempts to criminalize abortion in our own age, The Trials of Madame Restell paints an unforgettable picture of the changing society of nineteenth-century New York and brings Restell to the attention of a whole new generation of women whose fundamental rights are under siege.
