د. دسوقي إبراهيم هو أستاذ مساعد بكلية العلوم الإسلامية في جامعة أتاتورك وجامعة بايبورت في تركيا سابقًا. يعد هذا الكتاب أحد إنتاجاته البحثية المتميزة في مجال النقد الأدبي الحديث.
يستهل الكتاب بتتبع تطور النقد الأدبي عبر العصور، منذ ظهور الشعر العربي قبل الإسلام وحتى القرن العشرين. ثم ينتقل إلى استعراض الجذور الفلسفية والتحولات المعرفية التي أسست لظهور مناهج نقدية حديثة كالبنيوية والسيميولوجيا والأسلوبية ونظرية التلقي والتفكيكية والنقد الثقافي. ويركز على كيفية دخول هذه المناهج إلى الثقافة العربية في مرحلة السبعينيات والثمانينيات من القرن الماضي.
ثم ينتقل الكتاب إلى قراءات نقدية متعددة المناهج للنص الشعري في مرحلة الحداثة العربية، مستفيدًا من هذه المناهج الحديثة التي تتناسب مع جماليات اللغة الإبداعية في هذه المرحلة. ويهدف الكتاب إلى إضافة جديد في مجال النقد الأدبي الحديث.
