"One Grain of Sand" by David Somerfleck is a speculative novel set in a climate-ravaged America where democracy and equality have crumbled under corporate rule. Noah Harpster, a pickpocket sentenced to a brutal prison system, volunteers for a dangerous experimental procedure—one that could kill him, maim him, or grant him a second chance. Emerging into a world fractured by failed genetic experiments and weaponized media, Noah finds himself entangled with a resistance movement branded as terrorism. Guided by a surrogate father, falling for a visionary climatologist, and bonded to an exosuit that grants access to every signal, screen, and voice on Earth, Noah is forced to confront the machinery of power itself. In a nation where rebellion is criminal and truth is controlled, he must decide: is he just one grain of sand in the giant hourglass of life—or the one grain of sand that brings the gears of society’s machinations grinding to a halt?

Step into the haunting world of Charles Beaumont’s Traumerei, a chilling mid-century short story that blurs the line between dream and reality. As midnight approaches, two men grapple with a murderer’s unnerving claim that the entire world exists only within his dream—an idea that threatens to unravel their sense of existence itself. Beaumont masterfully weaves psychological tension, philosophical intrigue, and an atmosphere of creeping dread into a narrative that will leave you questioning what is real long after the final line.

Anyone can track down a priceless artefact that's been lost for hundreds of years. Finding one that's been hidden on a parallel Earth . . . now that's a neat trick.

When Neith Salah—a quantum curator charged with traveling to our parallel Earth to rescue precious artefacts—is ordered to save a priceless Fabergé Egg, she figures it's just another job. The only problem: she's not sure what the egg looks like. Or where it is. Or when it is.

Enter Julius Strathclyde, a mild-mannered Cambridge professor whose closest brush with death-defying treasure hunts is finding lost coins down the back of the sofa. Not the usual "save the world" type, but when Julius' best friend is murdered while searching for the egg, Neith realizes that this mild-mannered professor is the only person who can help her solve the riddles that will lead her to the egg.

She just has to keep him alive long enough to do it.

He's got the fountain pens. She's got the guns. They'll just have to hope that's enough to keep them ahead of the Russian Mafia, unknown assassins, and perhaps even other quantum curators who want the egg for their own dark purposes . . . and may not be picky about who they have to kill to get it.
