    Title: The Spider
    Series Name: Timeless Terrors
    Series Entry: 148
    Author: Hanns Heinz Ewers
    Narrator: Jonathan Dunne
    Original Publication: 1908
    Public Domain: Yes
    Description:
The Spider by Hanns Heinz Ewers is a chilling psychological horror tale that slowly tightens into obsession, paranoia, and doom.
In a gloomy Parisian boarding house overshadowed by a series of unexplained suicides, a young medical student volunteers to investigate the mystery. The deaths all occurred in the same room, under eerily similar circumstances, and no rational explanation has ever been found. Determined to uncover the truth, the student takes up residence there and begins carefully documenting his experiences.
With mounting dread, Ewers transforms an apparently simple mystery into something hypnotic and nightmarish. Rather than relying on overt violence, The Spider builds terror through psychological disintegration, fatal attraction, and the creeping sense of an unseen malign influence at work. The result is one of the most disturbing and unforgettable works of early twentieth-century weird fiction — a story where isolation itself becomes a trap, and a single glance through a window may lead inexorably toward destruction.

    Who do you trust?
Nuss needs a new life, one she hopes will bring better opportunities and solitude. With that motivation alone, she’s traveled weeks with a caravan that is full on judgment and empty on safety.
Now, only days away from her goal, the unwelcome arrival of two sorcerers threatens to stop her. And if they don’t, then the silent creature they've tracked to the caravan might. A creature far too capable of hiding in plain sight and wearing any face.
As the sorcerers' search brings them close to her, Nuss realizes the creature may be even closer. In a world where any connection with other people could get you cursed and executed, Nuss must determine who, if anyone, can be trusted. Failure may end her old life before her new one can even begin.
Cursed is the stand-alone (short story) prequel to Whisper, first book in The Entian Curse Trilogy!
    Narrated by Ink Arnadine

Exploring the diverse landscape of American life, the stories in Blues and Trouble: Twelve Stories capture the lives of people caught between circumstance and their own natures or on the run from fate—from a Jewish couple encountering a dealer in Nazi memorabilia to the troubled family of a Gulf Coast fisherman awaiting a hurricane.
Tom Piazza’s debut short story collection, originally published in 1996, heralded the arrival of a startlingly original and vital presence in American fiction and letters. Set in Memphis, New Orleans, Florida, Texas, New York City, and elsewhere, the stories echo voices from Ernest Hemingway to Robert Johnson in their sharp eye for detail and their emotional impact
New to this volume is an introduction written by the author. Drawing themes, forms, and stylistic approaches from blues and country music, these stories present a tough, haunting vision of a landscape where the social and spiritual ground shifts constantly underfoot.
