  Jean-Jacques Rousseau, born in 1712 in Geneva, Switzerland, was a philosopher, author, and composer whose work had a profound impact on the intellectual and political landscape of the 18th century.   Youth is a dynamic and socially constructed stage of life, shaped by cultural, economic, and historical factors. It is not merely a biological phase between childhood and adulthood but a period influenced by social expectations, policies, and institutional frameworks. While age-based definitions exist, they vary across cultures and societies, making "youth" a flexible and evolving category. 
  Historically, the concept of youth has changed over time. In traditional societies, young people transitioned quickly into adult roles through work, marriage, and family responsibilities. However, industrialization, urbanization, and formal education systems extended this period, creating a distinct youth culture. In contemporary society, youth is often associated with identity exploration, self-discovery, and the gradual assumption of adult responsibilities. This shift has been influenced by structural changes such as the expansion of higher education, delayed workforce entry, and evolving family dynamics. 
  The social construction of youth is evident in the ways governments, media, and institutions define and regulate young people’s lives. Policies related to education, employment, and legal adulthood shape how youth are perceived and treated in different regions. For example, the legal age for voting, drinking, and working varies across countries, reflecting societal expectations of maturity and responsibility. Similarly, media representations often portray youth either as a time of opportunity and innovation or as a period of rebellion and risk, shaping public perceptions and policy decisions.

  Throughout history, warfare has played an important role in the development of many cultures around the world, and Mesoamerica is no exception. As J.M. Francis and T.M. Leonard noted, “The history of pre-Columbian Mesoamerica was one of violence, though no more so than that of any other region of the ancient world. It was a universe of shifting alliances and mutual antagonisms, in which increasingly strong political entities forged themselves and then broke apart.” 
  	Of course, the history of warfare in Mesoamerica is a long one, tracing its origins back to the Preclassic period with the Olmecs, who were the first group to expand their influence. There is clear evidence they had a military development, but it seems to have been mainly focused on protecting their trade networks instead of on conquest. After the Olmecs, Teotihuacan rose as the first main center of military expansion during the Classic period, extending its influence across Mesoamerican territory. After its collapse, the vacuum of power created an unstable period, and new expanding polities emerged, including Cacaxtla, Xochicalco, and Tula. They became important regional centers that took control of most of central Mesoamerica through the use of military interventions. After their decline, during the Postclassic period, the Aztecs eventually emerged as the dominant empire in Mesoamerica and continued expanding their control and influence until the arrival of the Spanish in the 16th century. 
  	Perhaps not surprisingly, there are many misconceptions about Prehispanic warfare, so it is important to keep in mind that military conflicts in Mesoamerica were greatly diverse and cannot be summarized by simply analyzing Aztec militarism.

  1 - The Cherokee are among the native tribes of the United States' Southeastern Woodlands. They resided in communities along river valleys in what's now southwestern North Carolina, southeastern Tennessee, the limits of western South Carolina, northern Georgia, and northeastern Alabama just before the 18th century. Cherokee belongs to the Iroquoian language family. One oral legend tells of the people moving south in age-old times from the Great Lakes area, where other Iroquoian-speaking tribes were based, according to James Mooney, an early American ethnographer. 
  2 - The Comanche are a Native American people from the contemporary United States' Great Plains. Most of contemporary northwestern Texas, and also surrounding parts in eastern New Mexico, southeastern Colorado, southwestern Kansas, western Oklahoma, and northern Chihuahua, were previously part of their historical domain. 
  The Comanche people are acknowledged by the federal government as the Comanche Country, which is headquartered in Lawton, Oklahoma. 
  The Comanche language belongs to the Uto-Aztecan family of Numic languages. It started as a Shoshoni dialect, but has since developed into its own language. 
  3 - The Sioux, also called the Oceti Sakowin are a North American people of Native American tribe and First Countries tribes. The contemporary Sioux are split into 2 significant groups based upon language: Dakota and Lakota; they're called together as the Ohéthi akówi ("7 Council Fires"). The term "Sioux" is an exonym stemmed from a French transliteration of the Ojibwe term "Nadouessioux," and can apply to any ethnic group or language dialect within the Great Sioux Country.
