Summary

‘Britannia Rises’ tells the story of how, in the near future, the British Empire faces a pivotal crossroads. When the queen dies, her peaceful, prosperous reign comes to an end after more than seven decades. The new monarch must tackle challenges from within his own family and decide how to keep The Empire competitive with their most powerful rivals. The other world powers are looking for any weakness they can find to subjugate Britain and take their place as the most powerful nation on Earth. At the same time, King Alfred must preserve the peace and focus on Outpost, the cooperative programme that will ensure the survival of the human species. Jamie Bayston is a young teacher, embarking on a wonderful life, who has the misfortune to witness a murder that will plunge him into the dark world that exists between The Empire and its struggle to maintain order. He must run and fight to keep himself and his family safe while facing up to the truth that the world he knows is just a small part of what’s really out there.

Three sisters. Two brothers. And a wild weekend at the bachelor and spinsters' ball. What could go wrong…or is there a chance it could all go
    impossibly, incredibly right?
Charity Farrugia is too sensible to believe she'll find love in a paddock.
After all, at thirty-four, she's the one with the secure career and the mortgage. The one who took on the job of raising her two sisters when Mum got
sick. Everyone knows she's the practical one. The responsible one. Yeah, the boring one. But it would be neither safe nor prudent to let Faith and
Hope spend a weekend in the country without her, would it?
Lachlan MacKenzie doesn't believe in all that once-burned stuff. He might be divorced, but his cheating ex is no grounds for him to swear off women.
No, he has a far better motive. A secret that his brother, Hamish, and their increasingly distant father share. A reason that could cost him his livelihood.
But Mum would have wanted him to keep an eye out for Hamish, so he reluctantly allows himself to be dragged to the local B&S.
Charity has no intention of allowing her chaperone duties to be side-tracked by any local yokel. But meeting the intriguing farmer - who seems as
reluctant as her to be at the B&S - might be an opportunity to prove to her sisters that she does have a wild side after all.
But will she discover that what happens in the country sometimes refuses to stay in the country?

John Knox and Grace Chu, the incomparable duo of the Risk Agent novels, team up again in the latest international thrill ride from New York Times–bestselling author Ridley Pearson.

When ex–military contractor John Knox receives a text from partner Grace Chu warning that she fears her cover may have been blown while on assignment, he jumps into action. Knox must locate her overseas handlers, convince them of the threat, and then attempt to retrace the well-hidden steps of a woman who had been attempting to determine how one million euros’ worth of AIDS vaccine disappeared, all while eluding angry poachers on a parallel trail.

Corruption isn’t a “problem” in Kenya, it’s the way of doing business. The poaching of ivory from African elephants, driven by insatiable demand from mainland China, fuels constant blood and slaughter. Knox faces police, national rangers, journalists, and safari companies who are each in their own symbiotic relationship with elephants, both good and bad. As the threat from Al-Shaabab militants interferes with his pursuit of Grace, Knox finds himself pitted against the most savage and suicidal fighters in the world. And there’s this woman, Grace, always in his head. His gut. As Grace watches as her civilized self slips away while abandoned in the bush, Knox races against the clock to find her.

“Another perfectly calibrated installment in Pearson’s thriller world tour (with earlier stops in Shanghai, Amsterdam, and Istanbul); puzzling clues and immersive, full-sensory descriptions of Kenya balance cutthroat international criminal networks and teeth-clenching firefights.”—Booklist

He believes he's only taking out the trash, that the women he slaughters deserve their punishment. Too bad for him no one else agrees. And too bad for us that stopping him is nearly impossible.

The council sends me after him and tells me to bring him to them alive. But things get complicated when Adam Thorne has his goons attack me . . . and guess who saves my life? Yeah. The shapeshifter.

Add in a protective alpha who grows hotter with every passing night, a detective who is starting to remember things that may destroy him, and an enemy with a past that'll break your heart, and my life becomes one big chaotic mess. Then there's the dawning realization that my own past holds a long-buried secret, a secret my gut tells me I don't want to dig up.

I want to keep that secret hidden in the shadows, but it's creeping out. Slowly, inexorably, painfully, it's coming. It's coming.
