Summary

Detective Inspector Stanley Low. Belligerent, bipolar and brilliant. A Chinese-Singaporean, educated in London with a foot in both cities, his mission to eradicate violent crime wherever he finds it. Twelve women are found in the back of a truck, dumped in the Essex marshlands. They all have knives but have nothing to say, except Grace. She will only speak to DI Stanley Low. Brought in to assist with the case Low finds himself dealing with a global trafficking ring and a high-profile billionaire with connections that reach into the darkest corners of power. As one by one his witnesses are killed off, he has no choice but to return to Singapore to examine the darkest corners of the Asian city in his hunt for the traffickers. He must hurry. Another truck is being prepared. Another twelve, vulnerable women are being groomed. Low can only find them if he uncovers the ugliest of truths. The fourth novel in the critically acclaimed Inspector Low series proves that some crimes have no borders, and some detectives won't stop until justice is served.

Three homicidal maniacs. Two radioactive shoes. One body in a suitcase.
When Dr David Cairney, a politics lecturer, goes missing on the way home from his retirement party, his wife asks ex-boxer and journalist Robbie Gould for help. Gould wants nothing to do with it. But he needs the money.

Meanwhile, the body of another politics lecturer, Professor Stephen Hogg, has been found, his body folded into a suitcase beside the Clydeside Expressway. While poking around the murder victim's office, Gould encounters pathologist Sarah Badar. She worked on Hogg's post mortem, only to find her report redacted, and she wants answers too.

As the pair delve deeper into the case, they unearth connections between the two academics and a rogues' gallery of oddballs and grotesques including rival gangsters from Edinburgh and Glasgow, a llama-farm owner in Kirkintilloch and an ex-KGB general with a trepanned skull and a thirst for vengeance.

Sarah and Gould find themselves immersed in a world of missing Kremlin diamonds and pre-digital espionage – all coded signals, orange peel and scraps of red thread.

When aspiring artist Anna de' Medici Rossi inherits her family's opulent villa in Tuscany, she returns to a place steeped in tragedy and mystery. Living there as a child, Anna suffered from debilitating night terrors, frequently waking to find that she had wandered far from bed. During one such episode when Anna was twelve, her mother took a fatal tumble down the stairs. Vittoria's death was officially ruled an accident, but an heirloom ruby-and-diamond necklace was missing from her bruised neck. Whispered suspicions suggest that Anna pushed her mother and stole the precious jewels. Anna, remembering little from that night, is afraid they're right. But if that's true, then what became of the necklace, which has long been associated with legends of a family curse?

Now back in Tuscany after sixteen years, Anna is shunned by the local townspeople as a killer who escaped justice, while only a few distant relatives and an old childhood friend offer solace. As she explores the sprawling villa, Anna uncovers hidden rooms and memories shrouded in fog, reigniting the violent night terrors of her youth. Plagued by unsettling visions and eerie occurrences, she questions her sanity and embarks on a harrowing journey to unravel the truth of her past. As her search deepens, she confronts shocking revelations that expose her to dangers she never anticipated.

Mixing Mystery and Romance in a Fizzy 1930s Cocktail!
A crumbling English estate. A poisoned guest. A house full of suspects.
Clive and Henrietta return to England to find Castle Linley in financial ruin. When Clive’s cousin, Wallace, invites an estate agent to assess the home’s value, the agent is later found poisoned—throwing all of the Castle’s guests under suspicion. Clive and Henrietta are soon drawn into an investigation, slowed by an incompetent local inspector and a string of unexplained phenomena—many of which, especially according to the frail Lady Linley, are the work of a ghostly maid said to have been hanged on the grounds.
Meanwhile, Gunther and Elsie have begun life on a farm in Omaha. Circumstances are difficult, but they are content… until Oldrich Exley arrives, offering a proposition Elsie finds hard to ignore. Melody Merriweather, still masquerading as a nun to aid Elsie’s escape, also receives troubling news from home—while Julia, on the other hand, receives a very different sort of letter from Glenn Forbes.
Back in England, Clive is called away to London on suspicious business, leaving Henrietta to carry on the investigation alone. But when she is mysteriously locked in the study one night, things take on a more sinister feel. Can she uncover the true source of the hauntings—before the killer strikes again?
