In the Agatha Christie classic Peril at End House, a young woman who has recently survived a series of very close calls appears to be the target of a dedicated killer—and it’s up to Hercule Poirot to save her life.
On holiday on the Cornish Riviera, Hercule Poirot is alarmed to hear pretty Nick Buckley describe her recent “accidental brushes with death.” First, on a treacherous Cornish hillside, the brakes on her car failed. Then, on a coastal path, a falling boulder missed her by inches. Later, an oil painting fell and almost crushed her in bed.
So when Poirot finds a bullet hole in Nick’s sun hat, he decides that this girl needs his help. Can he find the would-be killer before he hits his target?

Her precarious position reawakens the darker impulses she’s worked tirelessly to deny. Can she call upon her friends—her only family—to assist her, or will her obsessions drive them out of her life forever?
And why is there another voice in her head?

🦙 Alpaca farm owner and fiber artist Al Pacino is preparing for the annual Alpaca Breeders Expo when the farm's most demanding client—a notorious luxury fiber buyer with impossible standards—is found dead in the shearing barn, a rare silver huacaya alpaca standing guard over the body. The police suspect a tragic barn accident, but Al notices the alpaca's fiber has been deliberately contaminated and the victim's quality control reports contain coded messages about fiber fraud. With her farm under investigation and the alpaca community humming with anxiety, Al must herd together the clues. Assisted by her farmhands and the handsome textile geneticist analyzing fiber DNA, Al uncovers a scheme involving alpaca identity switching, fraudulent fiber grading, and a sophisticated operation diluting premium fleece with inferior wool. From suspicious micron counts that reveal blended fibers to DNA markers that don't match the breeding records, every silky lock tells a story. But when Al discovers the victim was systematically downgrading small farms' premium fiber to buy it cheaply for luxury brands, she realizes the killer is protecting small breeders from exploitation softer than any alpaca fleece. With the breeders expo approaching and the real fiber fraudster still spinning lies, Al must comb through the evidence before her own farm gets permanently sheared.

Newly married Frances Hazelton, formerly the Countess of Harleigh, should be planning her honeymoon. Instead, she’s unmasking a murderer among the upper crust …

With her new husband George busy on a special mission for the British Museum, Frances has taken on an assignment of her own. The dowager Viscountess Wingate needs someone to sponsor her niece, Kate, for presentation to Queen Victoria. Frances—who understands
society’s quirks and constraints as only an outsider can—is the perfect candidate.

Kate is charming and intelligent, though perhaps not quite as sheltered as she might first appear. More worrying to Frances is the viscountess’s sudden deterioration. The usually formidable dowager has become shockingly frail, and Frances suspects someone may be drugging
her. The spotlight falls on Kate, who stands to inherit if her aunt passes, yet there are plenty of other likely candidates within the dowager’s household, both above and belowstairs.

Joining forces with her beloved George, Frances comes to believe that the late viscount, too, was targeted. And with the dowager seeming to be in greater danger every day, they must flush out the villain before she follows in her husband’s footsteps, directly to the grave …
