  Once you’ve chosen your bird, setting up an appropriate home is the next essential step. A well-chosen cage serves as both a sanctuary and a playground for your bird, so it’s important to select one that suits its size and activity level. Smaller birds require less space but still benefit from a cage that allows for free movement, while larger species need ample room to stretch their wings and explore. The spacing between the bars should be appropriate for your bird’s size to ensure safety and prevent escapes. 
  Inside the cage, include essentials that will keep your bird comfortable and stimulated. Perches of varying diameters are necessary for maintaining foot health and simulating a natural environment. Food and water dishes should be easily accessible and kept clean at all times. Additionally, toys such as swings, bells, and chewable items are vital for mental stimulation and preventing boredom.
