Summary

In our 89th issue, Michael Bracken pulls double duty to bring a pair of original mysteires to readers: great tales by Steve Liskow and Welsh-Huggins. Plus we have a crime novel by Johnston McCulley (who also created Zorro—but he tried his hand at a bunch of other heroes and antiheroes, among them The Scarlet Scourge, The Avenging Twins, and a ton of others). There’s also a novel by Western author B.M. Bower. Plus a solve-it-yourself mystery by Hal Charles.
 
On the science fiction & fantasy side, we have classic tales by Randall Garrett and Murray Leinster, two favorites. Robert E. Howard (much on my mind since returning from our trip to Robert E. Howard Days in Cross Plains, Texas) has a Solomon Kane adventure. And last (but far from least) we begin the serialization of Darrell Schweitzer’s amazing Sekenre: The Book of the Sorcerer, a series of linked short stories that come together to form a novel…though each tale also manages to stand on its own. Leonora Rowley was born in Nottingham in 1904, although some sources cite 1905. 
 
In September 1914 the famed British humourist P G Wodehouse married her mother, Ethel, and consequently legally adopted the young Leonora. 
 
On 14th December 1932 she married the cricketer, jockey, racehorse trainer Peter Cazalet at St Giles' Church, Shipbourne. 
 
Leonora Wodehouse died on the 16th May 1944 after undergoing minor gynaecological surgery.  A German bombing raid near her hospital had overwhelmed it with casualties.  Sadly no one was able to respond to her calls for attention to stem her post-op bleeding.  She was 39.

The case of the lost fireworks and guy.
This completely new story I have written involves the 10 year old boys who will be the great detective Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson, his assistant, when they grow up, this is their formative years where they perfect their skills before adulthood on what my appear to be inconsequential subjects, but the principle remains the same.
This is just one of an extensive series I will be publishing as audio books in the very near future and I do hope you enjoy this first one, and its only $1.25 cents, all subsequent will remain at that price as I would not like price to be a barrier to your enjoyment.
I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes sets the scene, so to speak, a violin Holme's musical instrument of choice and is energetic and the closing music ends the tale on a more restrained mode and only about 1 minute.
The story itself runs to about 7 minutes 30 seconds and is of course a short story, it is read in my own voice.
The story starts on 4th November 1895 in the grounds of Buckingham Palace and it discovered that all the fireworks and the guy ready for the next day's night celebrating Guy Fawks infamy had gone missing.
Queen Victoria herself had organised the celebration and it would have been extremely embarrassed to have to cancel.
Needless to say Holmes solves the mystery, returns the fireworks and guy to the Queen and the event is a great success. The Queen summons the duo to express her great gratitude.
The stories are designed to be entertaining to children of 6 to10 years old with the characters involved.
