Recipient of the Noble Peace Prize, His Holiness’s life and works have inspired millions of lives throughout the world. In this specially curated volume, His Holiness shares words of encouragement to deal with new realities in a pandemic-stricken world.“We must recognize that we are not individuals who are alone. We depend on our community and are a part of it. No matter how right your family is, without the community you cannot survive. In the past, there has been too much emphasis on one’s continent, region, and religion. Now that sort of thinking is considered outdated. What we really need is a sense of oneness among seven billion human beings. This could be one of the positive outcomes of the coronavirus crisis.” —His Holiness the Dalai Lama

    C. G. Jung, (Carl Gustav Jung) was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist who founded analytical psychology. Jung proposed and developed the concepts of extraversion and introversion archetypes, as well as the collective unconscious. His work has been influential in psychiatry and in the study of religion, philosophy, archeology, anthropology, literature, and related fields. He was a prolific writer, many of whose works were not published until after his death.
The central concept of analytical psychology is individuation—the psychological process of integrating the opposites, including the conscious with the unconscious, while still maintaining their relative autonomy. Jung considered individuation to be the central process of human development.
Jung created some of the best known psychological concepts, including the archetype, the collective unconscious, the complex, and synchronicity. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), a popular psychometric instrument, has been developed from Jung's theory of psychological types.
Though he was a practising clinician and considered himself to be a scientist, much of his life's work was spent exploring tangential areas such as Eastern and Western philosophy, alchemy, astrology, and sociology, as well as literature and the arts. Jung's interest in philosophy and the occult led many to view him as a mystic, although his ambition was to be seen as a man of science. His influence on popular psychology, the psychologization of religion, spirituality, and the New Age movement has been immense.

Central London, October 2022: Sue Parfitt, an 80-year-old Anglican priest, is arrested for sitting in the road.
It's not her first time, nor the last; and she isn't alone. Christians are waking up to the existential scale of the climate crisis. They are rediscovering the radical nature of Jesus's teaching. They are asking what God needs them to do, and putting their bodies on the line to do it.
Why are ordinary Christians breaking the law? For the incredulous and inspired alike, Sue Parfitt describes the experience, surveying our ecological, emotional, spiritual crisis with the blinkers off. You might want to be sitting down.

Life is complicated. Faith isn't. Or it shouldn't be. But in the past and today, religious leaders have overcomplicated what Jesus and the Bible have made simple. Jesus taught one overarching principle backed by simple, practical applications for everyday life. The way of Jesus is simple enough for a child to understand and deep enough to learn for a lifetime.

Whether you are new to the faith or are hoping to refresh a faith grown stale, Simply Following Jesus is your guide to a straightforward, action-oriented experience of Christianity. Teaching pastor Robert Watson shows you how to see your faith in terms of simple transformation, service, generosity, focus, submission, and more, freeing you to love God and your neighbor the way Jesus taught.

This devotional invites families and individuals alike to trace the golden thread of God’s promises through Scripture, from creation to the manger, and to see how every promise finds its fulfillment in Christ. With beauty, hope, and wonder woven into every page, Our Long-Expected Gift celebrates our God who will stop at nothing to show His love for us.

Will You Accept God's Gift of Sabbath Rest?
In our frenzied culture, the possibility of living in balanced rhythms of work and rest often feels elusive. This rings especially true for pastors and leaders who carry the weight of nonstop responsibility. Most know they need rest but might be surprised to find within themselves a deep resistance to letting go and resting in God one day a week, let alone for longer seasons of sabbatical.
The journey to a meaningful sabbath practice is slow and gradual, and it is a journey we need to take in community. Sharing her own story of practicing sabbath for the past twenty years, Ruth Haley Barton offers hard-won wisdom regarding the rhythms of sabbath, exploring both weekly sabbath keeping as well as extended periods of sabbatical time.
In Embracing Rhythms of Work and Rest, you'll find:

    - Practical steps for embedding sabbath rhythms in churches and organizations, grounding us in God's intentions in giving us the gift of sabbath,
    - An opportunity at the end of each chapter to reflect and engage God around your own journey with the material, and
    - A conversation guide for small groups and communities to foster transformation on a community-level.
Sabbath is more than a practice—it is a way of life ordered around God's invitation to regular rhythms of work, rest, and replenishment that will sustain us for the long haul of life in leadership.
