Summary

Seeking asylum from the wreckage of her life, Yvette Grimm arrives in Australia and overstays her holiday visa.

Desperate to carve a life for herself as an illegal British migrant, she invests her hopes in a palm-reader’s prophecy: she is to meet the father of her children before she’s thirty. But Yvette is already twenty-nine, and the quest takes her on a picaresque journey of self-discovery and transformation.

Set in Perth against the backdrop of Australia’s migrant history present and past, Nine Months of Summer is a moving, relevant and at times comical story of personal growth, purpose and coming of age.
Available since: 02/06/2022.
Print length: 360 pages.

    The only thing worse than
waking up with the hangover from hell
is waking up with a hangover in hell
When literary reprobate Foster James wakes up in a strange country house, he assumes he's been consigned to rehab (yet again). But when he gets punched in the face by Ernest Hemingway, he realises there's something different about this place...
Is Foster dead? Has his less-than-saintly existence finally caught up with him? After a hostile group therapy session with Hunter S. Thompson, William Burroughs and Samuel Taylor Coleridge, it seems likely. But he still feels alive, especially after he gets laid by Dorothy Parker.
When he discovers that the two enigmatic doctors who run the institution are being torn apart by a thwarted love affair, he and the other writers must work together to save something bigger than their own gigantic egos.
Set in a place that's part Priory, part Purgatory, Dead Writers in Rehab is a darkly funny tale about the strange and terrible entanglement of creativity and addiction, told by a charming, selfish bastard.

Roger Evans has been an articulate dairy and poultry farmer all his life. From his Shropshire farm, he writes his diary in a well-informed, realistic and funny way, covering all aspects of his life as a farmer today.
In this book Roger talks about ratting, a particular cheeky robin, Gomer's latest weight problem and the challenges of being a dairy farmer during a national crisis.
But in the countryside the good things still prevail: the local pub, the burgeoning hedgerows, tenacious wildlife, ingenious farm dogs and let's not forget Roger's plastic swans.
