However, Dahlia learns she must attend an unveiling ceremony in the form of a ball beforehand, and it’s decided that Volf will accompany her in the place of her noble guarantor, Guido—but could this arrangement just be an attempt to give Volf the push he needs? September, 1948. The Iron Curtain has descended. Behind it is the woman he loves.

The Berlin Blockade has begun and Soviet aggression threatens to ignite a new conflict. Now based in the besieged German city, Auguste Duchene finds himself part of a Cold War that is on the brink of turning hot. Working for the Allies to lure Soviet spies to defect, he's made an enemy of the Russians, who are drawing a net tightly around him. Meanwhile, Duchene's estranged wife, Sabine, finds herself under threat in Moscow. With her belief in the communist cause increasingly challenged, her past actions come back to haunt her as Stalin's agents wield their absolute power in a bid to expose her.

With its compelling portrayal of a paranoia-ridden Moscow and blockaded Berlin, The Moscow Defector sees Duchene and Sabine, torn apart by opposing ideologies, risk their lives to try to save one another. Evocative, gripping and full of twists, this taut thriller asks if lovers can reunite against an all-powerful regime.

The Confederated Nations of Earth and the Lunar Free State have fought each other for decades in the Sol system and out among the stars. They’ve never had an open declaration of war, but there have been battles in space at Odin, Sacagawea, and Rothstein’s star. Lunar Marines have clashed with Confed Peacekeepers on Ragnarok and Xanadu.
When the British battlecruiser Prince of Wales suddenly shows up at Ragnarok, the LFS and CNE realize there’s a new player in the game—not just the Brits, but a consortium of seven previously unaligned Earth nations who are making their presence felt at Xanadu as well. The two major powers adopt a wait-and-see policy toward the newcomers, but a few CNE operatives don’t get the word.
Will the consortium upset the balance of power between the Moonies and Confeds, or will they simply get caught in the grinder between the two? Time will tell, but for the moment, it’s a three player game.

After a hunting trip one fall, a family in the far reaches of so-called Canada’s north return to nothing but an empty space where their home once stood. Finding themselves suddenly homeless, they have no choice but to assimilate into settler-colonial society in a mining town that has encroached on their freedom.
An intergenerational coming-of-age novel, This House Is Not a Home follows Kǫ̀, a Dene man who grew up entirely on the land before being taken to residential school. When he finally returns home, he struggles to connect with his family: his younger brother whom he has never met, his mother because he has lost his language, and an absent father whose disappearance he is too afraid to question.
The third book from acclaimed Dene, Cree and Metis writer Katłįà, This House Is Not a Home is a fictional story based on true events. Visceral and embodied, heartbreaking and spirited, this book presents a clear trajectory of how settlers dispossessed Indigenous Peoples of their land — and how Indigenous communities, with dignity and resilience, continue to live and honour their culture, values, inherent knowledge systems, and Indigenous rights towards re-establishing sovereignty. Fierce and unflinching, this story is a call for land back.
