It strikes me as incredibly awkward that a sex toy shop would have such persistent salespeople, but I suppose I do actually need all the help I can get. I have very little idea what I’m doing, and even less time to figure it out.

“Uh, yes, thanks,” I smile nervously as I bend to pick up the product I have dropped. “This, um, device…”

She nods and saves me the trouble of having to form an actual question.

“That’s one of our best-selling chastity belts for fetish play,” she explains without a hint of embarrassment.

She’s good at her job, I’ll give her that.

“It’s great for temporary wear, like a few hours with a partner. But if you’re looking for something more suited to extended wear, long-term denial, that sort of thing, you’d probably like this one more.” She ducks one aisle over and comes back with a metallic contraption that only looks moderately more inviting and modern than a medieval torture device.

Still… I don’t need to enjoy it. I just need something that will keep me from fulfilling these awful urges I’ve been having ever since I woke up this morning.

Woke up this morning covered in blood, with a naked, sleeping man next to me, my subconscious fills in the rest of the thought. I swallow hard and try to push the thought of his gorgeous, muscled body out of my mind for the hundredth time today. I have to stop thinking about him.

“Extended wear?” I ask. “I mean, can I just leave it on forever?”
