Cord Bennett staked his claim in the gold-rich Rio Oro Canyon in 1849 at the dawn of the California Gold Rush. That's when all hell broke loose. What started as a makeshift mining camp is now a full-blown boomtown—fueled by greed, plagued by grifters, and overrun by opportunists of every stripe. As town marshal, Cord has the unenviable job of keeping the peace. Which is easier said than done. Here in Rio Oro City, brawls can break out at any moment—whether it's a ruthless rivalry between competing saloons or an all-out turf war between miners and timberjacks. And when money's at stake, brawls can turn deadly real fast . . .

In other words, Cord Bennett has his work cut out for him. His new deputy, a massive Englishman named "Boom Boom" Blackstone, packs his punches with blasting powder. The new church pastor is as handy with his fists as he is with a Bible. And Kat Olmsted, the sister of Cord's sweetheart Glory, is fighting to save her saloon from a hostile takeover. But that's nothing compared to Cord's latest challenge. A mysterious cadre of gunmen have arrived in town—and they didn't come for the gold. They came for vengeance. Cold, calculating, and cutthroat, they were hired for one reason and one reason only: To kill Cord Bennett . . .

    DESCRIPTION:A PLANET CALLED NOD
A PLANET CALLED NOD moves at a quick pace and is intended to be both a Science Fiction and a Comedy Novel. This book flows from story to story as the background of each major character is told to Doreteo Sanchez, the main character.
Doreteo Sanchez is just another wagehog, hoping to make it to his home planet with some overtime pay. The captain of their ship picks up a repeating beacon and sends Doreteo and a crewman named Duckworth down to the surface to investigate.
At what has developed into an archaeological site Doreteo and Duckworth fall (quite literally) into a series of situations, one of which is discovering a lost civilization’s amusements.
After surviving the dangerous adventure on the planet, Doreteo’s frustration boils over in a moment of anger and he commits a corporate sin by destroying company property. Doreteo is sent to A PLANET CALLED NOD where he is expected to fend for himself among a bunch of characters such as: Targen, an ex-sentry who has gone wrong somewhere along the way; Vlar, his girl, who is sexy but dangerous, Maxwell and Ernie, two engineers that also have made the mistake of damaging company property, Pix, AKA Knifeboy who has an extreme talent with throwing knives, and Naiomi, the singular sword-wielding woman who keeps to herself until Doreteo shows up and an entire ensemble of people imprisoned on Nod, each with a curious story to tell.
Throughout this novel stories are told about their fellow inmates and some tell their own stories as they are all surviving on Nod.
Then the work really begins as does the treachery and irony. And all this happens with the wit and dry humor of Doreteo and his oddball companions.

In this gripping tale of secrets, betrayal, and self-discovery, three women face choices that will change their lives forever.
Bibi’s marriage is in trouble, thanks to her stepdaughter, Scarlett, who has driven a wedge between her and Beau. Frustrated and feeling invisible, Bibi vanishes for a few days, hoping to regain her husband’s attention. But instead of the reaction she’d hoped for, Beau reports her missing—along with his family’s priceless heirloom jewels. Now, Bibi’s escape has become headline news, and she’s caught in a web of suspicion she never saw coming.
Kate is wary of the newcomer—who leaves home without their cell phone? Though she hates to admit it, jealousy flares when Silas, her current love interest, fawns over the striking beauty. But Kate has no real claim on him—they’ve only been on one date. When she spots Silas coming out of Bibi’s room during the night, her suspicions grow. Who exactly is this woman, and what is she hiding?
For Shelby, her unplanned pregnancy isn’t a mistake—it’s a lifeline. She’s convinced this baby will fill the emptiness that has haunted her for far too long. Determined to claim this child as hers alone, Shelby refuses to take a paternity test to find out whether Josh or Matt is the father. But the Maybe Daddies are determined to uncover the truth—whether Shelby’s ready for it or not.
