Summary

It was a simple trip. A visit to Ireland, to scatter the ashes of Erin’s grandmother. But on the Emerald Isle, forbidden lust begins to stir. Erin and her son Brian are falling into a pit of taboo desire. When they climb the holy mountain, they will get the shock of a lifetime, bound forever by their heritage and their "Taboo Inheritance!"

~~~~~ PG Excerpt ~~~~~
Erin woke to a soft glow coming through the tent walls. Eyes closed, she stretched, testing her body.
Everything present and accounted for, Commander. Libido reports general horniness in the groinal area.
A soft snore caught her ears, and her eyes flickered open. Brian’s face was barely more than a foot away from hers. His outflung fingers nearly brushed her face. In the light of sunrise, his hair seemed to glow like burnished copper, and his profile was somehow both gentle and stern, the face of a reluctant warrior.
Oh. Her hand, unbidden, moved between her thighs. It had been so long since she’d had a man, even a man as unsatisfactory in bed as Jared had been. And it couldn’t be wrong to admire her own son’s sheer masculinity, could it? It wasn’t as if she was going to act on it.
She could almost sense the warmth of his breath, sighing between his lips. Could almost taste his sweet mouth. Could almost feel the hard flat planes of his chest, his belly, under her fingers. She was suddenly, uncontrollably wet, and she clamped her thighs closed on her hand, utterly still, except for her middle finger as it tickled her bud.
Oh, Gods. Brigid and Lugh and Nuada and all the rest. Please. I need this. I need to finish before he wakes up!
Her breath hissed between her teeth. And then, between one moment and the next, she climaxed, her breasts aching. Her lower lip was caught between her teeth, almost hard enough to draw blood, as her hips undulated and her loins throbbed with the strength of her desire.
Whew. That was a good one. She opened her eyes, and almost squeaked as she realized Brian was awake and staring at her, a slightly inquisitive frown pinching his eyebrows.
When in doubt, play innocent. “Good morning,” she said.
“God.” He closed his eyes, and she let out a clandestine sigh of relief. “Morning sucks. Can someone please turn off the sun?”
Erin flipped open her sleeping bag and headed for the tent flap, hoping the smell of her own arousal wouldn’t be too obvious. “Sorry, no. I’m not one of the gods. I’m hitting the bathroom. Start breakfast, and I’ll be back in time to take over for you.”
    Laws are the invisible threads that hold societies together, shaping behavior, enforcing order, and establishing the boundaries of right and wrong. Yet, scattered across the world, there are rare places where laws hold little to no authority—zones where governments have little presence, where no single entity enforces regulations, and where the concept of governance is fluid or entirely absent. These places, whether by accident of history, geopolitical disputes, or deliberate rejection of authority, exist on the fringes of civilization.
    This book explores seven of these anarchic zones, each with its own unique circumstances and challenges. From the open ocean, where maritime law is a complex tangle of loopholes and jurisdictions, to the frozen expanse of Antarctica, where no country claims true ownership, these areas defy traditional governance. Some, like Bir Tawil—a small strip of land between Egypt and Sudan—are unclaimed due to border disputes, while others, like Slab City in California or Freetown Christiania in Denmark, are self-declared autonomous communities that reject the rules of mainstream society.
    The existence of these lawless zones raises important questions: Can true freedom exist without laws? Is lawlessness always synonymous with chaos, or can people thrive outside the framework of government? In some of these areas, the absence of enforcement has led to disorder, crime, and exploitation. Pirates take advantage of international waters to operate freely, and smugglers use ungoverned territories to traffic goods and people. In other places, however, the lack of laws has fostered alternative communities built on mutual cooperation, artistic expression, and self-sufficiency.
    The 1803 purchase of the Louisiana Territory was a watershed event for the fledgling United States. Adding some 829,000 square miles of territory, the Louisiana Purchase set a striking precedent of Presidential power and brought to the surface profound legal and constitutional questions. As the nation continued to expand westward and into the Pacific and Caribbean, critical social, political and constitutional questions arose that greatly tested American resolve and reshaped the nation's founding premises.    In this exciting collection, Sanford Levinson and Bartholomew Sparrow bring together noted scholars in American history, constitutional law, and political science to examine role that the Louisiana Purchase played in shaping both the expansionist policies of the nineteenth century and critical interpretations of the Constitution. The Louisiana Purchase and American Expansion, 1803–1898 provides a fascinating overview of how the U.S. Constitution and the American political system is inextricably tied to
    [How to Recognize Toxic Stress] delves deep into the invisible architecture of modern anxiety, illuminating the subtle ways our bodies and minds carry the weight of constant vigilance. With prose that flows like a gentle stream of consciousness, this groundbreaking exploration maps the delicate intersections between our physical responses and emotional landscapes. Through intimate observations of how stress settles into our shoulders on ordinary Tuesday mornings and nests in the spaces between breaths, the book reveals the profound wisdom of our bodies' ancient language. Drawing on cutting-edge research in neuroscience and psychology, it examines how our nervous systems have become unwitting hosts to a perpetual state of alertness, transforming what should be temporary visitors into permanent residents in our lives. The narrative weaves together personal insights with scientific understanding, creating a tapestry that helps readers recognize their own patterns of toxic stress while offering a compassionate framework for understanding these responses not as personal failings, but as natural adaptations to an increasingly demanding world.
