Summary

Is love closer than we imagine, perhaps even occupying our same space in another dimension? Maybe, that 'we're not alone feeling' is more than a feeling.
Gwyneth McGowan has no idea how she got there, but this blend of colonial America and medieval England is not home. When a handsome soldier calls her by name, Gwen holds out hope that he can give her some answers and help her get back to her own world. Falling in love is not part of the plan.
Captain Thane Garren wants to find the king's betrothed so he can bring her to him. Then he can return to peace of his manor. In a case of mistaken identity, he presents the wrong woman to the king. Now the king has commanded him and Gwen to do the job right. Gwen's actions are exotic and mystifying, but this intoxicating stranger makes him feel things he has never felt, things he doesn't want to feel, doesn't deserve.

Georgina desperately wants to return to England because she finds that men are only interested in her for her father's money and she is very disillusioned by a European Prince who claims that he loves her but it is her riches he is after.
She so wants to be loved for herself.
So she and her Nanny set sail for England and her father promises to follow soon.
On board ship she meets Billie Baxter, the Conductor of a popular band, who has been a great success in America and is now returning home.
He is upset because his pianist has been taken ill and so they cannot play for the passengers, which would mean special terms for them on the ship.
Because Georgina feels sorry for Billie Baxter she agrees to become his pianist, but only during the voyage to England, as her father would not approve of her performing on a stage and Nanny has strong doubts as well.
However, when the ship docks at Southampton, the pianist has to go straight to hospital and the band is due to play at the magnificent stately home of the handsome Duke of Stonebury the following evening and one of his guests is to be the Prince of Wales.
Once again Georgina agrees reluctantly to help Billie Baxter.
What happens when she arrives at the Duke's beautiful house and how unexpectedly she finds the real love she is seeking is told in this romantic story by BARBARA CARTLAND.

    INTRIGUE. TENSION. LOVE AFFAIRS:
In The Historical Romance series, a set of stand-alone novels, Vivian Stuart builds her compelling narratives around the dramatic lives of sea captains, nurses, surgeons, and members of the aristocracy.
Stuart takes us back to the societies of the 20th century, drawing on her own experience of places across Australia, India, East Asia, and the Middle East.

To sit at the Captain's Table on a big liner is an honour eagerly sought after, and often especially so, when the Captain is handsome, distinguished, and young for so important a command.
But for Catherine Duncan the privilege was a source of alarm, for Robert Blair was the brother of her dead fiancé, and he believed her to be morally responsible for Hugh's death.
How could she endure his thundercloud presence, day after day, on the long voyage to China?
