Summary

The novel “Black Arrow” takes us to the setting of that era, when after the failed attempt of the English to acquire primacy on the continent began a brutal internecine strife, which has a poetic name in history, “the war of the Scarlet and White Rose”. Back in the XIV century, the Plantagenet dynasty was divided into two branches - York (chose white rose as its emblem) and Lancaster (red rose). Gradually intensifying rivalry of these lines finally turned into a struggle for the throne; Richard, Duke of York, taking advantage of the state turmoil and, on the other hand, hoping that with the dementia of King Henry VI (Lancaster) he will not be difficult to seize power in his own hands, decided that the time had come to act...
