  Upon waking up from a cataclysmic dream state that engulfed an entire region, the author-to-be Lyan Ling tells her husband Lao Tzu about the fantastical vision that she witnessed in the depths of her consciousness. A world enclosed within gigantic walls, the ground is made up of large steps, each steps large enough to house a medieval town. The world is populated by a hierarchal kingdom and animals that grow through photosynthesis. The sky rains gemstones and glass shards. At one dark night this special rain pours heavier than usual and rips apart an opening to reveal an extension of their world, exposing a neighbouring strange world that follows different rules, this revelation flips their beliefs about what is possible and impossible in the world, which instantly causes dramatic shifts in their own world.
