تقع (المقامات النظرية)، التي حرص مؤلفها أن يكون عددها خمسين مقامة أسوة بمقامات بديع الزمان والحريري، في مئة وتسع وسبعين صفحة مخطوطة من الحجم الصغير قام بنسخها أبوبكر عمر باجابر في مدينة سورت سنة 1193 هـ. وتوجد تلك الصفحات ضمن "مجموع" مخطوط تم إيداعه في مكتبة الأحقاف بتريم تحت رقم 2928. ومن خلال المقدمة التي وضعها باعبود لمقاماته نكتشف أنه على صلة بأدباء عصره، وأنه كان مواظبا على قراءة مقامات الحريري و(المقامات الزينية) التي ألفها ابن الصيقل الجزري في نهاية القرن السادس للهجرة.Show book
