  كان ما اخترته قد نهض على مزيج من ذائقة شخصية، وقناعة - سعت أن تكون موضوعية، ما أمكن الأمر - بأنّ هذه النماذج جديرة بتعريف القارئ العريض على شخصية عدوان الشعرية؛ فإنّ ما يستوجب الإيضاح، أيضاً، هو أنّ اختيار قصائد دون سواها خضع لعامل تقني محدد: أي الاستعاضة عن القصائد الطويلة، لصالح تلك المتوسطة أو القصيرة، وذلك لإفساح المجال أمام أكبر عدد ممكن من النصوص المعبّرة عن التجربة، وبما يتناسب مع الحجم المقترح للمختارات.
