يجمع «ديوان إسماعيل صبري» تراث شاعرٍ لم ينل في حياته ما يستحق من شهرة، لكن صوته الشعري ظل خالدًا بما تركه من أعمال عاطفية ووطنية وإنسانية. تنوّعت موضوعات هذا الديوان بين القصائد الكونية الملحمية التي منحته لقب «شاعر الكونيات»، والقصائد الاجتماعية التي تناولت الرثاء والمديح والهجاء والتهاني وحب الوطن، إلى جانب قصائد الغزل والأغاني التي غنّاها كبار مطربي عصره، فضلًا عن الأوبريتات والأناشيد المدرسية التي تعكس اهتمامه بالتربية الفنية. يختتم الديوان بمسرحية مترجمة بعنوان «ربيبة الكوخ»، ليبرز جانبًا آخر من مواهبه الأدبية. هذا الديوان إذن ليس مجرد مجموعة شعرية، بل لوحة متكاملة تُظهر شاعرًا متعدد المواهب جمع بين الشعر الغنائي والوطني والدرامي، ليؤكد أن الأدب الحقيقي قد يتجاوز شهرة صاحبه، ويبقى خالدًا في وجدان القراء والأجيال.
