«كبير» هو مُصلح ديني عظيم ومؤسس طائفة ينتمي إليها قرابة المليون من الهندوس القاطنين في شمال الهند, ومازال «كبير» يعيش بيننا حتى الآن بأشعاره الصوفية الفائقة. كان مصيرُه كمصير الكثير من الكاشفين عن زيف الواقع. فهو كاره للإقصاء الديني, وساعٍ إلى التعريف بالحرية المكفولة لأطفال الله وتقديمها للبشر قبل كلّ شيء. وعلي الرغم من أنّ أتباعه أعادوا تشييد الحواجز التي عمل جاهداً على تحطيمها والإلقاء بها, إلا أن قصائده الرائعة قد نجت من التحريف, التعبيرات التلقائية لرؤيته وحُبّه, وإنه عبر تلك القصائد وحدها, لا عبر التعاليم المنسوبة إليه, يصنع «كبير» جاذبيته الخالدة في القلوب. تشتمل هذه القصائد علي تشكيلة متنوعة من المشاعر الصوفية, من أكثر المفاهيم تسامياً وتجريداً وأكثرها شغفاً أُخروياً لملاقاة المُطلق إلى أكثر التصورات حميميةً وشخصانية للإله باستخدام مجازات بسيطة ورموز دينية مُستلهمة بحيادية من المذاهب الإسلامية والهندوسية, بحيث يستحيل الجزم باتجاه مؤلفها: هل هو براهمي أم صوفي؟Zum Buch
