Summary
An ancient myth known by the name "the legend of the ancient kingdom" tells the story of the fall from the cosmos of a celestial body, an asteroid, which split into seven fragments before touching the earth's ground. According to that ancestral legend passed down in the kingdom of Belisaver, the place where the crash occurred, as many kingdoms were born from each of those parts of the mysterious fiery space object. These kingdoms were called hidden, as they remained somehow suspended between time and space. Subsequently, magicians belonging to two opposing orders remained the sole repositories of the ancient knowledge concerning the hidden realms, until the magician Esperil dean of the magical order of Goraz is summoned by the old ruler of Belisaver King Zorev III to his castle in Enselit, the capital of the kingdom. The king, backed by his trusted adviser, is greatly alarmed because of some strange happenings that have recently occurred in Belisaver. Thanks to Esperil's invaluable help, they discover how an invasion is imminent by troops from Riondord's kingdom of darkness, the most dangerous of all those hidden realms that until then had seemed to belong only to a myth that was beginning to be somewhat faded by now. Suddenly war seemed to loom unexpectedly over Belisaver, forcing the wise Esperil to go at once in search of his favorite disciple Kabel. The two, together with the funny but loyal Almoluk, will be forced to embark on a long and perilous journey through all the legendary hidden realms in an attempt to reunify the seven scepters, guarded by the rulers of each, before the enemy forces succeed. Once they leave the light realm of Riolais Kabel, his master mage Esperil and fraternal friend Almoluk head for the fire realm of Regnet, the second stop on their long journey. In the midst of an arid and inhospitable environment the three will face deadly new dangers, while war still rages in Belisaver threatening to spread to the entire continent and new pawns appear ready to enter the game and risk their lives for the conquest of scepters.
