Bedtime can sometimes feel a little scary. But what if your child could create a special place using their imagination… They can use their imagination to build a garden of extraordinary abundance, have fun, feel safe, and experience a peaceful night's sleep.

In this heartwarming story, children are invited on a gentle journey to their own 'Special Garden': a peaceful haven where they can feel calm and safe, no matter what's happening in the world around them. Through soothing words and beautiful illustrations, Your Special Garden: Sleep Tight shows children that, like a loving hug or a treasured memory, there's always a safe space for them to return to when the lights go down.

Inspired by Christine's own experiences, this book offers children a tool to cope with their worries, honour their emotions, and find comfort in sleep. Through playful exploration, they can fill their 'Special Garden' with animals, treasures, or mythical creatures. A guiding poem provides inspiration, but how they see and use their garden is limited only by their imagination…and yours!

A perfect bedtime read, this book will leave children feeling ready to drift into dreamland with peace in their hearts.

Who Am I? tells the story of Makwa, a young Indigenous boy whose spiritual name means 'bear' in Ojibwe. Torn between his traditional teachings and the modern life of a typical American kid, Makwa loves basketball and video games. However, his grandfather challenges him with a profound question: how does he plan to honor and give back to his people and ancestors who fought for their survival?
Makwa embarks on a journey of self-discovery, exploring whether his true calling is to be a dancer like his cousins. Despite examining various styles, he doesn't feel the pull. Without his father around since infancy, Makwa turns to his grandfather for guidance. Through the rituals of leaving a tobacco offering and smudging, he seeks the Creator's help to find his path.
Who is Makwa? Dive into his heartfelt journey to uncover his identity and purpose.
This book will have some of the words such as 'grass dance,' 'traditional dancer,' and 'fancy dancer' in Arikara and Ojibwe at the bottom of the pages.

When we first met Stephen Barton, we met a strong-willed 3-year-old toddler trying to understand and apply the incomprehensible adult world in which he is growing up.

When we meet him today, we find a more self-confident little boy, growing older and meeting new experiences. He proudly revels in his role as mascot of his local football team but can run away and hide when faced by a not very scary dog.

Stephen is proud of his dad, but more often he does things with his mother, who takes him every day to the school which he has recently joined. He is also very close to his grandma and to both his granddads, who all think the world of him. However, he has found it difficult to build up friendships with other children in his class.

He has a sort of love/hate relationship with his big sister, Gladys, who can sometimes treat him as a pesky encumbrance.

Even before Stephen started school, he had learnt to swim and can now, by a mile, outdo his classmates in the pool. Come and meet him again.
