Summary

James Maley, George Watters, Donald Renton and Archibald Williams were members of Machine Gun Company No. 2 of the XV International Brigade. This is the first book to focus on a small group of men from different starting-points, ended up in the same battleground at Jarama, and then in the same prisons after capture by Franco's forces.
Their remarkable story is told both in their own words and in the recollections of their sons and daughters, through a prison notebook, newspaper reports, stills cut from newsreels, interviews, anecdotes and memories, with a foreword by Daniel Gray.
Our Fathers Fought Franco is a collective biography that promises to add significantly to the understanding of the motives of those who 'went because their open eyes could see no other way'.

Step into the fog-shrouded streets of 16th-century London.
A Haunted Walk Through Tudor London is a 30-minute immersive audio experience that guides listeners through the city as it existed during the Tudor era, from the Tower of London to Smithfield Market, from the witches’ quarter at Bishopsgate to the execution ground at Tyburn, and along the shadowed banks of the River Thames.
This is not a ghost story in the modern sense. Instead, it is a historically grounded, atmospheric walk through the places where Tudor Londoners lived, feared, believed, and died, told by candlelight, with subtle sound design and careful attention to historical detail.
Along the way, you’ll encounter:The restless spirits of queens and traitors at the Tower of LondonThe vanished bells and bookstalls of old St Paul’sThe fires of faith at Smithfield MarketTudor beliefs about witchcraft, cunning women, and familiar spiritsThe theatres and sins of BanksideThe grim spectacle of Tyburn TreeAnd the river that carried London’s memory, the Thames
The walk is narrated by Heather Teysko, host of the long-running Renaissance English History Podcast, the original Tudor history podcast, with millions of downloads worldwide. Heather has been sharing Tudor history since 2009 and is known for bringing the period to life through vivid storytelling, deep research, and an accessible, conversational style.
Whether listened to at Halloween or on a quiet winter evening, this audio experience invites you to slow down, imagine the city as the Tudors knew it, and walk through history in a way that feels intimate, reflective, and unforgettable.

Cornelia Arnolda Johanna "Corrie" ten Boom (April 15, 1892 - April 15, 1983) was a Dutch watchmaker who worked with her father Casper and other family members to help, reportedly, 800 Jews escape the Nazi Holocaust during World War II by hiding them in their home. Eventually, the family was caught, and ten Boom was arrested and sent to Ravensbrück concentration camp, but released after ten months due to a clerical error. Later in life, ten Boom wrote, "The Hiding Place," a biography that recounts the story of her family's efforts and how she was able to find hope while imprisoned at the concentration camp. It was later made in to a movie. The following is part two of a speech ten Boom gave called, Authority Over Demons.

Mourning Bands On is an accessible journey into the hypersensitive world of today’s American
law enforcement. The reader is brought into the law enforcement world through an introduction to the history, function, and development of the American police model. With an understanding of policing’s role in American society, the reader is then immersed into the raucous and
contentious cultural upheaval which American policing is currently experiencing.

Using well-known examples, the reader is challenged to consider how American culture is affected by critical incidents and the portrayal of those events in our media intensive world. The reader will review the cases in the deaths of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd, as well as others. The cases are presented as a narrative of events supported by the findings and legal conclusions of the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation. Each incident is reviewed with a view of how the incident effected American society and brought change to American culture and thus policing.

More than a mere social organization a few centuries old, Freemasonry can be regarded as a perpetuation of the philosophical mysteries and initiations of the ancients. This book reveals the unique and distinctive elements that have inspired generations of Masons. Thoughtful members of the craft, as well as outsiders, will appreciate its exploration of Masonic idealism and the eternal quest, from humble candidate to entered apprentice and master Mason.
