Summary

Adam, an assassin for the Dutch Army, has specific instructions to infiltrate the pirate ship The Libertine at any cost and ensure the pirates will be defenseless when the army attacks.

Using his body and his seductive charm, Adam captures the attention of Captain Blair. With the battle of Willemstad days away, and The Libertine's weapon expert suddenly murdered, Adam is placed aboard the ship to assure their arsenal can outlast the Dutch Army.

As the battle draws closer, the Quartermaster Gregor, who has an agenda of his own, befriends Adam. Their friendship quickly develops into something more. Playing a three-way game of fire, Adam has only a few hours to decide what to do. Assassinate the Captain and Gregor and return to the army a hero? Or betray the army for the love of Gregor, a man he doesn't know and isn't sure he can trust?

I avoid. It's this thing I do. Like, right now, I'm avoiding talking about being dumped. Instead, I'm going to the bar, where my friend Elyse has a drink waiting and my friend Charlie is performing in drag. But they decide that a hookup is just what I need.
That's when I meet Jude. Jude is incredible, and then ... incredibly unavailable. Like, so unavailable. But, combined with advice from my siblings, I start seeing a counselor to talk about how I avoid.
Then Carter, my ex, steps back into the picture for what I assume is going to be closure. And he assaults me. Jude is there to stop it and help me through the lawsuit and the trial. But Jude has his own stuff going on, and I'm graduating in the spring. At some point I'm going to have to deal with all the issues I'm facing ... especially when love is on the line.

Meghan Koo doesn't take life too seriously—especially not in the ten years since she's broken away from her conservative, homophobic upbringing. Now, as the drummer for The Shrikes, she's touring the world and getting to play the music she loves.
Collins has fought for years to be taken seriously as a woman in a male-dominated industry. As one of the most well-respected producers in the world, she doesn't have time or energy to take others feelings into consideration, earning her a fairly . . . callous reputation.
When The Shrikes land the amazing opportunity to have a live show and album special produced, the record label taps Collins to produce—given that she did an incredible job on The Shrikes' Kaleidoscope album. When the opportunity arises for Collins to take over as director, she's told that Meg is the key to getting The Shrikes to back her new role.
Now, Collins finds that she has to get Meg on her side, and they're both a bit surprised by what they find once they stop arguing and start getting to know one another.
Will the two women be able to call a truce in order for the show to go on? Or will the fireworks between them set the entire concert on fire?
