Summary

Bass Cooper had once been the top Army Scout along the Santa Fe Trail, but that before the Pawnee Fork Massacre. Big Head, the Comanche war chief, had decimated the freight train. The Army blamed Cooper for what happened and for two years his life had been a lonely one, trying to redeem himself. Now it seems he will have his chance, except that the commander of the military escort of a freight wagon train is skeptical when Bass Cooper warns them of an imminent attack by the crafty Big Head and his warriors. However, in order to survive the attack, Cooper has to become ruthless and torture his Comanche captive in order to obtain details of the attack that could kill them all.
