Summary

The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles is a book written by the New Thought Movement writer Wallace D. Wattles and published in 1910 by the Elizabeth Towne Company. The book is still in print. According to USA Today, the text is "divided into 17 short, straight-to-the-point chapters that explain how to overcome mental barriers, and how creation, rather than competition, is the hidden key to wealth attraction."

This book is based on the Hindu philosophies that One is All, and that All is One (Page one of Preface).

The Science of Getting Rich is based upon what Wattles called "the Certain Way of Thinking." According to Mitch Horowitz, the editor-in-chief of the Jeremy Tarcher imprint of Penguin Books, which reprinted The Science of Getting Rich in 2007, Wattles' "Certain Way" descended from the "mental healing movement" that had started earlier with Phineas P. Quimby in the mid-19th century.

As Horowitz explained to a reporter from the Washington Post, after experiencing relief from physical symptoms of discomfort or illness through Quimby's mental strategies, people began to wonder, "If my state of mind seems to have a positive influence over how I feel physically, what other things can it do? Can it lead to prosperity? Can it lead to happiness in my home? Can it lead to finding love and romance?" One result of such questioning was Wattles's application of Quimbian "mental healing" strategies to financial as well as physiological situations.

This book consists of three titles:
Book 1 - Why does understanding a psychological risk lead to physical reactions? The answer lies in human anatomy, specifically in the mechanisms behind real pain. Is mental pain comparable to physical pain? How does intense pain manifest? When it comes to physical pain, the process is straightforward. We rarely consider the basic motor reflexes controlled by the spine.
Book 2 - Many believe that the most successful people in the world have mastered the ability to use their minds to attract what they desire. Imagine being able to draw what you want most into your life effortlessly, without having to take direct action. Imagine being able to manifest your goals and desires through the discipline of your thoughts.
Everything begins with thoughts, which most people don’t fully grasp, as actions are rooted in these ideas. Before diving into the methods that harness the power of the mind, it’s important to ask: What is the subconscious mind?
Book 3 -  Verbal abuse involves making negative, defining statements about a person or withholding responses to diminish their presence. Essentially, it means belittling, insulting, or patronizing someone, or gossiping behind their back.
When the abuser fails to apologize or retract their harmful statements, the relationship may be characterized by verbal abuse. Such abuse is often driven by underlying anger, which fuels and sustains the abusive behavior.

Fairy tales are more than mere bedtime stories; they are living, breathing repositories of ancient wisdom and magick. In The Night House, bestselling author and word-witch Danielle Dulsky peels back the layers of these timeless narratives to reveal their potent role as guides for navigating today's world. Historically kept and passed on by women, fairy tales are distinguishable from other types of folk tales by their supernatural elements, and because of this, they were often dismissed as trivial fantasies for women and children. Danielle illuminates how this marginalization kept these stories safe from the witch-hunter's noose and allowed women to safely store and transmit their sacred age-old wisdom for new generations to uncover and explore. Her fresh and relevant commentary will support your kinship with the Earth, ancestors, and your own living myth. The Night House shows how a single fairy tale is actually a treasure box of coded knowledge and magickal practice that has remained largely intact, preserved under the floorboards of the Yaga's hut for us to find.
