It’s Spidmas in Spider Webdon. But this year, it’s no ordinary Spidmas. As Spid wraps presents and gets ready to welcome his friends, little does he know this will be a Spidmas he will never forget. This heart-warming Christmas audiobook features two songs: 'A Faraway Spidmas Wish' and 'Spidmas Day'. You can also find music videos of the songs at https://spidthespider.com and https://www.youtube.com/spidthespider. Spid is a lowly spider, who wants to better himself, write songs, and marry his girlfriend Bid, though he is prone to hilarious mishaps mostly of his own making. He is hard-working, cool, and a role model for young children. As well as encouraging children to read and love books, Spid's adventures also teach valuable life lessons, including determination and what psychologists call a 'growth mindset' (desire to better oneself and succeed), the importance of friendship, and sustainability. With very creative prose, Spid's adventures are fun for parents, and teachers to read to, and with, their children. They present lots of opportunities to invest dramatic licence thus helping adults and children interact and engage. The humour works at multiple levels from silly and slapstick to more sophisticated wordplay and concepts. Thus, children will discover more and enjoy reading the stories multiple times. By the time the Pleistocene Epoch ended around 12,000 years ago, Homo sapiens had become one of the most significant species on the planet. It was also near the end of that period of time that modern humans began to gradually populate what would become Europe, Asia, and the Americas, eventually becoming the inheritors of the Paleolithic era and the only human species to make it into the Neolithic era. The process was long and difficult, and the survival of the species only happened through a combination of human tenacity and a fair amount of luck. As much as humans evolved during the Pleistocene, the topography, geography, and environment changed even more.
The cold Pleistocene temperatures lowered water levels across the planet, exposing land that was not there before or after the period. At the same time, significant regions of the planet were very different during the Pleistocene, including Southeast Asia, particularly the modern islands of Bali, Borneo, Sumatra, and the Malay Peninsula, roughly equivalent to parts of Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand. This region, which modern scholars refer to as Sunda or Sundaland, was unique because all of it was connected by land, meaning today’s islands were once part of a contiguous subcontinent, and in terms of the people, flora, and fauna, it was very different than it is today. If a modern traveler could somehow transport back to the Pleistocene, Sundaland would look nothing like modern Southeast Asia and would resemble as much of a lost world as something out of a science fiction novel.
Although much is still unknown about Sundaland, researchers have uncovered plenty of evidence bringing this lost world to life. As anthropologists and archaeologists developed new models and discovered ancient material culture, they learned that Sundaland played a significant role in the development of Neolithic Southeast Asia in many ways.

    PLATOON
    THE ULTIMATE TRIVIA COLLECTION

FROM THE MOVIE DIRECTED BY OLIVER STONE

    CREATED BY FILM TRIVIA METAVERSE

    ABOUT THE FILM
Platoon (1986), directed by Oliver Stone, is a gritty Vietnam War film that follows Chris Taylor, a young and idealistic U.S. Army recruit, who is thrust into the harsh realities of combat. Assigned to a platoon in South Vietnam, Taylor faces moral and physical challenges as he navigates the brutal conflict. The film explores the psychological toll of war through the contrasting leadership styles of two sergeants: the callous Sergeant Barnes and the compassionate Sergeant Elias. The film delves into themes of loyalty, survival, and the moral ambiguity of war, offering a raw and realistic portrayal of the Vietnam War experience.

    TRIVIA SAMPLES:

“According to Oliver Stone, he intentionally cast Tom Berenger and Willem Dafoe against type. Berenger, who played the ruthless Sergeant Barnes, was mainly known for playing good guys, while Dafoe, who had often played villains, took on the heroic role of Sergeant Elias. The casting was a success, earning both actors Oscar nominations.”

“Charlie Sheen credited Keith David with saving his life. During filming in an open-door Huey gunship, the helicopter banked too sharply, throwing Sheen toward the open door. David grabbed him and pulled him back inside just in time.”

“Lieutenant Wolfe’s character is frequently used in U.S. military leadership courses as an example of how not to behave as a junior officer.”

How does time shape consciousness and consciousness, time? Do we live in time, or does time live in us? And how does music, with its patterns of rhythm and harmony, inform our experience of time? Uncommon Measure explores these questions from the perspective of a young Korean American who dedicated herself to perfecting her art until performance anxiety forced her to give up the dream of becoming a concert solo violinist. Anchoring her story in illuminating research in neuroscience and quantum physics, Natalie Hodges traces her own passage through difficult family dynamics, prejudice, and enormous personal expectations to come to terms with the meaning of a life reimagined—one still shaped by classical music but moving toward the freedom of improvisation.
