Summary

Discover true-to-life stories of figures across the globe whose determination, dreams and hard work allowed greatness in their fields. From politics to the Nobel Peace Prize, each remarkable individual offers a unique story of grit that will resonate with readers of all ages to inspire grit for greatness.

Aaron James Judge got adopted the day after he was born. He became aware of it at around ten years old, yet he remarkably felt at ease with his adoption story. Growing up with his adoptive mother showing him care and affection since he was a baby, Judge never had to think about anything differently or wonder about anything.

He grew up in Linden, California, with his adoptive parents, Wayne and Patty Judge, who were both teachers. His parents were aware of his athletic inclinations at an early age. Aaron was taught to prioritize education, but his parents have also consistently encouraged his athletic capacity. Judge made his Major League Baseball debut in 2016, playing for the New York Yankees. From then, he skyrocketed to baseball superstardom and simultaneously broke records and earned awards. The most remarkable was his 62 home runs in an American League single-season home run record. He surpassed Roger Maris with 61 home runs in 1961, a 61-year history.

THE GIRL BROWNIES – ASHDOWN FOREST, ENGLAND 1919
Book 2 of 6 The Mystery of the Rusty Lantern
The summary of this first book in the series is as follows:
In 1919, six adventurous Brownies—Lulu, Minnie, Lottie, Agatha, Bernadette, and Beryl—discover an old lantern in Ashdown Forest with a cryptic riddle etched into its base: "Seek where the raven guards the past, beneath the stones where shadows last." Following clues to a raven-haunted monolith and a hidden stone circle, they unearth an 1859 surveyor’s journal and smuggler’s treasure. The journal leads them to a legendary healing spring, where they witness its miraculous properties first hand. Their findings attract local historians, revealing the lantern’s ties to forest wardens and Napoleonic-era smugglers. Celebrated as junior historians, the girls return their discoveries to the village museum, proud to have preserved a piece of Sussex’s past. As they gather around their campfire, the restored lantern’s glow reminds them that the forest still holds secrets waiting to be uncovered—and their next adventure is just beginning.
I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music, “Joyful Journey”, which does run to approximately 2 minutes sets the scene, so to speak, recorder, tambourine, guitar and accordion in a folk/classical and cheerful mood. The closing music, “Bloom”, ends the tale on with more of the same at about 2 minutes and the same musical instruments etc. but more of an ending feel and looking forward to the next story in the series.
The story and music itself runs to just about 14 minutes and is narrated in my wife's voice, Claire, who actually was a ranger guide!
I do hope you and your family enjoy this story, please let me know.

In this story, Spid is horrified to find litter has been thrown into his garden. But he soon realises that littering and rubbish aren’t just a problem for him – they’re a problem for the whole planet. So he decides to do something about it. But he needs an idea. A really good idea. And he needs one now … As ever, Spid faces and overcomes a number of setbacks but wins though in the end! This audiobook includes two songs: 'Plan-it Earth' and 'Bag it, Bin It'. 'Plan-it Earth'. ‘Plan-it Earth’ starts with a superb guitar instrumental. It is a thoughtful and melancholy song, with a rallying chorus to save the planet “You Can Help Us Out, Be a Planet Scout.” ‘Bag It, Bin It’ is an electro synth(esiser), anti-litter campaign song. It extols the virtues of recycling with a catchy chorus; “Bag it, bin it, put your rubbish in it. It’s not trash, it’s trade cash.” You can also find music videos of the songs at https://spidthespider.com and https://www.youtube.com/spidthespider. Spid is a lowly spider, who wants to better himself, write songs, and marry his girlfriend Bid, though he is prone to hilarious mishaps mostly of his own making. He is hard-working, cool, and a role model for young children. As well as encouraging children to read and love books, Spid's adventures also teach valuable life lessons, including determination and what psychologists call a 'growth mindset. The book is supported by teaching resources, including a 'litter cycle' poster to help children understand the effects of litter on out planet, and empower them to help preserve our environment. This can be found at https://spidthespider.com/fun-childrens-activities/.Book review“Inspiring stories provide the best education! Spid’s powerful story teaches children about the environmental problems facing our world and empowers them to take action to ensure its wellbeing.” Heidi Solba, President, Let’s Do It World, leading the World Cleanup Day.
