Summary

Yogiri and Tomochika are finally reunited with their classmates as they make it to the capital of Manii. But before they have time to even say hello, they find the class already burdened with a new task: to accomplish a great feat that would gain them recognition as potential Sages. As the two try their best to blend in and smooth over the rough feelings from their previous abandonment on the bus, the class begins making plans to take on the Underworld, a labyrinthine dungeon below the capital, housing a Dark God they must slay to prove themselves worthy as Sage candidates. Meanwhile, another estranged classmate makes her return, but with far more sinister intentions.

The quirky citizens of Slacksville are back in another sidesplitting adventure in the well-received series reviewers call “refreshingly witty” and "extremely imaginative.”
There’s a thief in Slacksville! Officer John Cop is stumped in trying to nab the mysterious culprit known as Peep who has been pilfering Slacksville’s citizens along with his criminal gang. When he makes a plea to the people for help, he gets all kinds of inexpert “superheroes” coming out of the woodwork to flex their…erm…talents. Can these misfits work together to bring peace to Slacksville?
Reminiscent of funny favorites including The Adventures of Captain Underpants, the Wayside School series, and My Weird School. The Tales from Slacksville Series can be read in any order.

Gods and demons had always fought amongst themselves according to Hindu Mythology. This story presents that universal conflict between good and evil, problematizing the very concepts of good and evil. It challenges the dominant discourse of the gods (representing the upper caste, aristocratic, capitalist class of the society) that they were the up keepers of law and the rakshshas were the miscreants. This story oscillates between an epic past and contemporary times but is more dominantly set in modern sub urban landscape of the present decade. The age old battle plays out in the modern city/mofussil backdrop and involves angles of love, revenge and betrayal.
