Synopsis

You are cordially invited to view one of a triptych of stories involving the lives and loves of gay men who work or volunteer at the Sunrise Arts Center in Stafford, North Carolina.
The three stories in this box set revolve around three men -- one a high school senior, one thirty-something, and one recently retired -- as each looks for companionship and love.
Contains the stories:

Whitney: Becoming the director of an arts center close to where he grew up seems like the perfect opportunity for a fresh start for Whitney Pell. He enjoys playing the field ... for a while. Then he begins to miss being part of a couple. The wedding band on Stuart Blount's finger means he's straight, or does it? Will Whitney's present cause the picture of domestic bliss they're painting to be torn apart?

Jonathan: Retired English prof Jonathan Baker joins a men's book group and meets high school English teacher Frank Cummings. The men have several things in common. Both teachers, both belong to the same church, and both are of a similar age. Jonathan has previously lost a lover to illness and fears history repeating itself. Should people their age enter into relationships or just stay friends?

Louis: Louis LeFevre doesn't fit in. He's Haitian, gay, and is a photography nerd. Judd Thomas is a soccer jock and needs help with an art term paper. Louis helps him get the terms and concepts right. They make for unlikely study buddies, much less lovers. Will their relationship develop into something beautiful or will they be forced to blow the whistle and walk away?

Lyndon is running on empty when he makes his last courier pickup of the day at a strange business. He's definitely not ready for the shy and attractive man who's supposed to sign off on the delivery to jump into his van and order him to drive as fast as he can. But acting on instinct is sort of Lyndon's thing, so before he knows it he's in a cross-country chase with danger hot on his heels.
Curtis had his doubts about working for his employers, but he deeply appreciated the routine of it. When he discovers that he might have unwittingly helped create a bug that could spread like a deadly fire through the country, though, he knows he has to act, and he's only glad that the brash courier who picks him up is willing to go all the way to make sure what Curtis is carrying reaches its final destination.

Trajan is descended from dragons. He mostly passes for human -- except when it comes to reproduction. His kind don't take mates, finding partners only long enough to incubate their eggs. Caught unprepared by a rare fertile period and longing for a child, Trajan takes a human back to his hotel. He knows it's wrong to use Elias without telling him the truth, but it's only for a few days. No harm done. After all, there's no reason for them to see each other again. Even if the sex is amazing, and Elias is sweet, and Trajan has suddenly realized he isn't sure how to take care of a baby after it comes out of the egg ...
Elias' life has been nothing but hardship since his parents kicked him out. A night in a swank hotel with a man who seems kind is at least a warm bed for once. And the sex is great, if a bit ... intense. But then Trajan starts talking about dragons and eggs. Is Trajan crazy, or is Elias actually having an egg? And which is scarier? Trajan tells him he can leave in a couple days, but how do you forget an experience like this? Elias isn't sure he wants to, especially if he's really having a baby.
Neither of them knows what they want. But with every day that passes, it gets harder to say goodbye.
