I've always thought of myself as a fan more than a writer. Never in a million years did I imagine that I'd ever get my fiction published, let alone have all of my books become New York Times bestsellers. It wasn't until I was in my 30's that I published my first short story, The Girl in the Yellow Bikini. It was released in 1974 in Mike Shayne Mystery Magazine.
