Summary

The Leader As Servant Leadership Model The Laws of Integrative, Transformative Leadership In today's global world, there is no better time for servant's heart of service to reach people seeking authentic leadership. The Leader as Servant Leadership Model is for anybody who aspires to be a leader in service of others and organizations. The book guides you through four integrated dimensions of transformative leadership processes: personal, spiritual (relational), empowerment, and service. With this foundation and for the leadership process to be effective for growth of others and organization, the leader must be more centered on people than organization. PREPARE TO BE BEAKED BY THE MAJESTIC EAGLE OF HISTORY

Most of us are familiar with the greatest hits and legendary heroes of US history. In George Washington Is Cash Money, Cory O'Brien, author of Zeus Grants Stupid Wishes, does away with the pomp and circumstance and calls America's history what it is: one long, violent soap opera. In his signature clever, crude, and cuss-ridden style, O'Brien reminds us that:

    ● Teddy Roosevelt stopped bullets with his manly chest

    ● Harriet Tubman avoided danger by having prophetic seizures.

    ● Joseph Smith invented Mormonism by staring into a hat full of rocks.

    ● Billy the Kid was finally defeated by the smell of fresh bacon.

And there's plenty more Star Spangled stupidity where that came from.

As Dede Montgomery moves through grief to accept the death of her father, the stories in My Music Man shed light on change, acceptance, and forgiveness amid close personal relationships and Oregon’s natural landscapes. The reader is catapulted into autumn on the Willamette’s riverbank in the 1960s with the author and her brothers, where they discover their father’s own childhood stories and the intimate relationship he shares with the land. Tales about seven generations of family weave between time periods, held together by the constancy of place and colored by memories of picking berries and filberts, traveling through the West Linn locks, and swimming in the river on a hot summer day. Montgomery describes small-town life in a school where everyone knows everybody, and how it felt to be an only girl in what often felt like a never-ending sea of boys. Chapters depict stories about place, seasons, gender, relationships and recovery. This book is to be savored. Yet it's much more than a memoir - it's a multi-generational story, lovingly told, of a family deeply tied to Oregon's history. Additional written information such as photographs, family tree and references may be found on the author's website at https://dedemontgomery.com (My Music Man: Audio Book Supplement).

We all want the power and motivation to create change in our lives. But how to get that in a stumbling dance of one step forward and two steps back? Negative emotions run rampant in many people’s lives today; a reality that feels like a shrink wrap of suffering. Popular fallback “solutions” of performance-based goals and tools focus on extrinsic rewards like fame, wealth, or winning. But overuse of those rewards doesn’t work for the long term and in fact weakens our confidence and motivation over time, leaving us vulnerable to failure and shame.
It doesn’t have to be that way. Through three decades of researching and tracking such universal struggles to change our behavior, Dr. Kyra Bobinet unveils the way out, using novel neuroscience research on a compelling new brain area, the habenula. In this book, she reveals the habenula’s powerful role in killing our motivation and causing anxiety and depression and offers a foolproof way to escape its clutches.

    Image Bearers - Shifting from...

Being pro-life means that not only do we see abortion as a murder, but we also see our apathy against injustice toward outside of the womb as a coconspirator in the fight for life. It means that we fight for racial equality. It means that we love the woman walking into the abortion clinic passionately with the love of Christ, and it means we embrace life no matter what label may be attached to a person's identity. There are many books written about being pro-life, the pro-life and right-to-life movement, and combating abortion arguments, but my hope is this small volume will bring awareness that the pro-life movement ethic is so much bigger in presenting a case for life than just being pro-birth.
