Summary

It is the mid-11th century, and Harald Sigurdsson is now king of Norway. It seems that all of his ambitions are fulfilled, until he receives a visit from the King of England’s brother.

Banished by the king, Tostig Godwinson is a man on the run, full of jealousy and loathing. If he could persuade Hardrada to seize the throne of England, he could then become Earl of the North. Such a venture, however, could prove dangerous.

Meanwhile, Nikolias pursues Andreas across the vastness of Central Europe, to rescue his love, Leoni. Andreas has his heart set on killing Hardrada, as revenge for the wrongs done to him by the giant Viking. Can Nikolias find him in time, and save Leoni?

Against the backdrop of the furious struggle for the throne of England, this story of love, death, treachery, and destiny comes together on the blood-soaked fields of battle in the final part of Stuart G. Yates's Varangian series.

For Nova Sakura, it will be a time for action with the Marines down on the planet, a time to take care of unfinished business and make good on the promises she was forced to leave the locals with on her first trip to Tatanna.
But the Bugs aren’t the only enemy the Lunar Free State has to face. While they’re fighting to liberate a planet fifty light years away, someone else is planning to hit them a lot closer to home.

Jorok saved my life after being trapped in a filthy cell. He's gorgeous and way too serious for his own good. To get to know him better, I tag along on an errand, but we're kidnapped and forced to nurse an alien captain's sick crew. To avoid being sold, I pretend to be Jorok's mate (which isn't difficult). I thought things couldn't get worse from there. I was wrong.

    Jorok

Kiki is utterly delectable. She's brilliant, amusing, and beautiful, but she's also my queen's sister and deserves someone who can devote more time to her. Which I can't, since I'm a physician to the ship's entire crew. When she and I travel to a merchant city for supplies, we're taken by a band of Gutturians who want me to cure their crew of a mystery sickness. A deathbed confession sets us off on a quest to uncover the source of the oppressive group, who is determined to wipe out my people . . . and hers. Kiki's intoxicating charms are the least of my problems . . . and one I can no longer resist.

This is a tale of three sons sent out into the world. The first two are sadly rather selfish and greedy but the third is a kindly soul who reaps the benefits of helping the ragged old beggar. Who of course turns out to be a powerful fairy. A very good fairy tale indeed and one worth listening to.
