THE GIRL BROWNIES – ASHDOWN FOREST 1919
Book 1 of 6 The Lost Brownies
The summary of this first book in the series is as follows:
In 1919, six Brownies—Lulu, Minnie, Lottie, Agatha, Bernadette, and Beryl—set out to earn their "Explorer" badges in Ashdown Forest, Sussex. Armed with a compass, a map, and boundless enthusiasm, they ventured deep into the woods, laughing and exploring. But as the day wore on, they realized they were lost. Fear crept in, but the resilient girls rallied, using the compass and map to navigate. They faced thorny brambles, startled wildlife, and fading light, singing songs to keep their spirits high. Finally, they found a stream and followed it back to camp, discovering an old rusted lantern along the way. Exhausted but triumphant, they returned to their relieved leaders, earning their badges and a newfound confidence. That night, the forest felt less daunting, and the girls dreamed of their next adventure.
I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music, “Joyful Journey”, which does run to approximately 2 minutes sets the scene, so to speak, recorder, tambourine, guitar and accordion in a folk/classical and cheerful mood. The closing music, “Bloom”, ends the tale on with more of the same at about 2 minutes and the same musical instruments etc. but more of an ending feel and looking forward to the next story in the series.
The story and music itself runs to just about 13 minutes and is narrated in my wife's voice, Claire, who actually was a ranger guide!
I do hope you and your family, if applicable, enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come
