A heartwarming—and heart-tugging—middle grade novel about love, loyalty, and what it means to be part of a family—from author Carolyn Crimi,. Perfect for fans of A Dog’s Life and Because of Winn-Dixie.
Miss Lottie’s home was for second chances.
When she adopted Gus, Roo, Tank, and Moon Pie, Miss Lottie rescued each member of the pack—including herself, her helper, Quinn, and her reclusive cat, Ghost—and turned them into a family. But when a new dog, Decker, arrives and tries to hoard Miss Lottie’s heart and home for himself, the pack’s future is threatened.
At first, Gus, the insecure pack leader, only notices little things, like tiny Moon Pie being kicked out of the bed and Ghost acting spooked (then again…Ghost is a cat). But things soon go from bad to worse as Decker’s presence causes disharmony in the group.
When Decker convinces Moon Pie to embark on an impossible journey, it’s up to Gus to gather his courage, rally his splintered pack, and bring the little dog home. And with coyotes and cars on the loose, the pack must push through obstacles and dangers to reunite with Moon Pie before he can get hurt—or, nearly as bad, get his heart broken.

Like a crunchy toasted bread, this book is crisply written for kids and conveyed through priceless quick-witted real-life stories, presented in chunks, broken into bits and pieces, and tightly wrapped in biblical principles, the latter serving as hot chocolate! What could be yummier!
This unique book tags us along Mary and John’s fun and scary adventures and delightful and sad experiences as curious kids, school learners, and brother and sister belonging to a family who actively teaches Life lessons in chunks and Bible principles made real through daily life application.
Beautiful Bible gems applied in real life through stories create interest and resonate with readers because these, too, could happen any time in their young life. As you read along, you understand that no one is exempted from the cuts, bruises, and skirmishes of young life–even in the most loving of homes!
One of the many life lessons that impacts young readers in this book is the truth about children’s propensity to tell lies at an early age. Thus, the Hard truth about lies should be explained to them at an early age. Kids ought to learn about discernment early on. Truth-telling is a beautiful character trait that will carry them through life whether in excellent or awful circumstances. It is armor; it is a shield.
Life lessons for kids when embedded in a child’s early years will serve as a compass, a moral guide, that will lead the child throughout her life until adulthood. Sharpening kids in God’s words and grounding them in old-fashioned values will not only make them strong individuals but more importantly, will grow them in Courage in extraordinary circumstances, even in ordinary situations, when no one seems to be brave enough or principled enough.
The book is not only crunchy; it freshly bites!

    The Pendle Witches England 1600's
Book 4 of 7 The Curse of Alizon Device
The books are fictionally based on the true names and part facts of seven of the accused witches involved being sentenced to death mostly, although innocent, and is as follows:
Alizon Device, a young healer from Pendle Hill, accidentally unleashed her latent witchcraft powers during a heated encounter with peddler John Law. When he refused to sell her pins, her angry curse left him paralyzed—a consequence she immediately regretted. Her desperate attempt to apologize became a damning confession when Law's son reported her to witch-hunter Roger Nowell.
Imprisoned in Lancaster Gaol, Alizon implicated her family under pressure, including her blind grandmother, Old Demdike, who died before trial. A spectral crow offered her freedom if she betrayed her kin, but she refused. At trial, her nine-year-old sister Jennet's testimony sealed their fate.
On August 20, 1612, Alizon was hanged, maintaining her remorse but not her innocence. Her story endures as a tragic tale of unchecked power, familial betrayal, and the deadly consequences of fear in 17th-century England.
This is the fourth book in a series of seven audiobooks and I do hope you enjoy ,(might not be the appropriate word, this fourth instalment, and it's only $3 dollars.
the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes plus, called Haunting Elegy, uses flute and harp to set the scene of witches living life as they could. The closing music ends in a sad way, called Melancholy same instrumental at nearly 3 minutes as the fate that befalls these innocent people awaits them.!
The story itself runs to about 15 minutes, and and is narrated in my own voice.
I do hope you and enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!
