Using his magnificent nose, he follows a complex trail through their long garden, past the greenhouse, vegetable beds, and apple trees, all the way to the potting shed at the very back of their property.
There, Dudley discovers that his beloved mum has become trapped inside the shed when the door mechanism jammed, leaving her unable to escape. His urgent barking alerts Dad to the location, and together they free Mum from her predicament. Dudley's heroic rescue makes him a neighborhood legend.
