    John Calvin Refugee Theologian -...

This book offers a robust introduction to John Calvin's writings through the lens of his experience as a religious refugee.

Calvin knew about persecution and political exile from personal experience. He lived as an exiled fugitive engaged in pastoral ministry to a church that included large numbers of immigrants and refugees. Calvin's teaching also addressed an international community experiencing religious violence and displacement in his day. In this engaging book, Kenneth Woo demonstrates how Calvin sought to make the comfort he found in God accessible to others through sermons, commentaries, letters, polemical treatises, and his magisterial Institutes. In his distinct-yet-inseparable roles as teacher, pastor, and polemicist, the reformer adapted his message of hope in exile to diverse audiences. Woo shows how Calvin's theology is an example of Reformed Christianity's refugee roots and history of pastoral care from the margins. And in a brief conclusion, he offers reflections on what a greater awareness of Calvin as refugee theologian could mean for those engaging his theology today.

John Calvin, Refugee Theologian helps students read Calvin for themselves, attuned to how his theology reflected dynamics of religious violence and migration in his day, making this book especially useful for undergraduate and seminary classes on Calvin, the Reformation, and the history of Christianity. It will also appeal to pastors and Christian educators.

I don’t think it’s a far stretch to say that most people who read the Bible, don’t spend much time reading the Minor Prophets. Minor Prophets, you say? Who are they? My point exactly.
I think we figured those books were likely about some stale old history of the Israelites, and had little or no practical bearing on us now or on our future. Wrong-O.
Many of us have spent our time mostly in the New Testament learning about Jesus. Of course, learning about Jesus is wonderful. But those Minor Prophet books are there for a reason. And now we are discovering why.
Would you believe that the Minor Prophets tell us about the NWO cabal...
    and about the Great Awakening...
and how a Great Army will rise up and defeat the NWO enemy...
and humanity will enter into wonderful days of health and wealth and peace and joy?
Yep. Clear as a bell. That’s what I’m going to decode for you in this book.
The premise of my Revelation decode book, “End Times and 1000 Years of Peace,” is that the LORD has awakened His chosen warriors, and we are right now in the epic Battle of Armageddon, fighting the battle of good versus evil. After we defeat our enemies, we will enjoy 1,000 years of peace on earth. That truth is not just found in the book of the Revelation. That wonderful truth is found all throughout God’s Word. That truth is just exactly what we need to know to have the courage and stamina to keep fighting until the war is over and our enemies are gone! You're going to love getting Major Clues from Minor Prophets!

    All Things Come into Being...

    David O. Brown

Deism presents the Christian with two distinct but related problems: firstly, it appears to argue that God and creatures are in a zero-sum relationship, so that if science explains why certain events occur, then God cannot, thereby removing all divine providence in the world; and secondly, by so removing providence, it makes the incarnation difficult if not impossible.

Drawing on Thomas Aquinas’ doctrine of creation, David O. Brown shows that if creation is understood as a relationship of dependence that creatures have with God, rather than an event that happens at the beginning of time, then providence is reframed as the fulfilment of an ontological relationship rather than the guiding of history towards a specific future end.

If creation is understood as a relationship of ontological dependence, then the incarnation is that relationship, not something God does subsequent to creating. Jesus Christ is that through which all things are created, because the ontological relationship that constitutes the doctrine of creation is the hypostatic union. The incarnation becomes the single divine activity of the deist, and a genuine Christian incarnational deism is possible.

Pierre Gulet, an eccentric and uniquely intuitive French archaeologist, is living in 25th century Egypt but is fixated on the past. After centuries, Egypt is still Egypt-the pyramids, the donkey carts, the unfinished high rises, the rancid stench of garbage, the systemic corruption. Pierre was excavating the find of a lifetime, a pre-dynastic temple beneath an Old Kingdom fortress, until he was called into the office of the Director of Antiquities who takes away his life's work, blacklists him, and drives him into exile onto a distant world, a small colony struggling for survival on the edge of outer space.
Pierre must now solve a mystery that has baffled traditional scientists for decades, an agricultural blight that has decimated the food supply of a colony on Gliese 832 c. Driven by a desire to make a discovery no one can take away from him, he must use his unique skills to save the future of a planet that is on the precipice of disaster. But as he seeks to uncover the truth, he is opposed by intransigent colonists, jealous predecessors, and an ancient power lurking deep in the earth. The more he discovers, the more he is vilified, and the more determined he becomes to discover what is at the heart of the blight. Should he fail, everyone in the colony dies.
RELIQUARY OF THE DEAD is the first book in the WAR OF THE GODS series, inspired by Sherlock Holmes, Indiana Jones, and the cosmic mythos of the ancient Near East.
