Summary

The Kingdom of Xarooda clashes with the O’ltormea Empire, forcing Ryoma Mikoshiba to take to the battlefield! The war has already started, but Xarooda needs reinforcements, so Ryoma travels to Helnesgoula to speak with Queen Grindiana, the Vixen of the North. She seems uninterested in helping a country she’d rather take over, but Ryoma sweetens the deal with an alliance between Helnesgoula, Xarooda, Myest, and Rhoadseria, along with a trade treaty too lucrative to resist.

Now, with even Sir Rolfe, the captain of O’ltromea’s royal guard and the Emperor’s Shield, deployed to the fighting, Xarooda’s final, fateful battle with O’ltormea is on the verge of beginning. However, Ryoma’s schemes throw more than one wrench into the empire’s plans! Will the Devil of Heraklion prevail in war again? Or is Ryoma’s short-lived time as governor of the Wortenia Peninsula coming to an end?

A charming mystery story set in the early 1900s which is as much about the townspeople, sleuths and other colorful characters as it is about the murder. Filled with comic antics of Scotland Yard fellows, local police, and residents of the town, keeps the murder ever elusive. The "whodunit" is maintained until the very end and the laughter keeps going even after the mystery is solved.

I'll be famous one day, but for now I'm stuck in middle school with a bunch of morons.

Being a kid can really stink. And no one knows this better than Greg Heffley, who finds himself thrust into middle school, where undersized weaklings share the hallways with kids who are taller, meaner, and already shaving.

In Diary of a Wimpy Kid, author and illustrator Jeff Kinney introduces us to an unlikely hero. As Greg says in his diary:

Just don't expect me to be all "Dear Diary" this and "Dear Diary" that.

Luckily for us, what Greg Heffley says he won’t do and what he actually does are two very different things.

“Remove My Shadow From My Body” is a psychological and symbolic story that portrays the inner journey of a man seeking liberation from his past, guilt, and the shadow of his identity.
Every person carries a shadow — but the protagonist of this story wants to separate that shadow from himself. Here, the shadow is not just the silhouette formed by light, but a symbol of his inner darkness, past mistakes, and suppressed emotions.
As the story progresses, readers become part of a mental struggle where the lines between reality and imagination begin to blur. The desire to remove the shadow becomes a deeper echo of self-acceptance and liberation.
This is a story about the voices that remain buried inside us — and sometimes scream so loudly that we stop recognizing ourselves.

A compelling story by one of the most prolific authors of the Victorian "sensational novel" serves up the perfect blend of murder, greed, madness, secrets and romance. The characters interlace throughout, and are as always interesting and entertaining. Braddon's multi-layered plot has just the right amount of suspense to hold your interest to it's very satisfying ending
