'. . . there is a quiet here that doesn't exist on land, a fluid suspension that reminds me that humans were never meant to be so rigid, so fixed in place. In the sea, we are both vulnerable and free . . .'
Deep Blue is a love letter to the sea, exploring humans' deep connection with the ocean and the bliss of swimming, diving, dipping and simply being in salt water.
Join Veruska De Vita, a learner free diver and open-water swimmer, as she delves into why the ocean calls to us. Along the way she talks to those who find healing and wellness in swimming groups and cold-water immersion, scientists who study complex marine environments, elite athletes who swim super-human distances along our coasts and free divers who plumb the depths with one breath.
Water is primordial. It gives life. It represents hope and renewal. This book is not only for sea worshippers. It promises to inspire everyone to jump with joy into the waves – and offers reflections on our intimate relationship with the sea, which supports life on earth and requests that we respect it.

Dublin's teeming slums, long regarded as the worst in Europe, were teetering on the brink of structural and sanitary public catastrophe during the early twentieth century. To tackle the crisis, Herbert Simms was appointed the city's first housing architect. During a sixteen-year period, from 1932 until 1948, Simms and his team planned, commissioned and built an astounding 17,000 homes –some as inner-city flat complexes, others as family houses in newly-created suburbs such as Crumlin and Cabra.
Like the city's acclaimed Georgian squares, the Simms-designed Corporation flats in particular have stood the test of time, injecting a touch of art deco and modernist glamour to neglected neighbourhoods. This comprehensive guide to the Simms buildings also highlights the many struggles with politicians and bureaucrats Simms and his staff experienced as they did their best to build well-designed, affordable housing for the people of Dublin.

HowExpert Guide to Phlebotomy is a glimpse into the life of being a phlebotomist in a private clinic, hospital, or plasma plant. It includes an in-depth description of the types of patients we see, the equipment we use, and how to perform blood draws. The most important part of our profession is drawing blood by inflicting the least amount of pain possible for the patient. This means that you need to be educated on the procedures for specific tests such as a Heparin Quant Assay, a PTINR, and Lipid Panels. If you don’t know these tests, odds are they will need to be redrawn, and the patient will have to undergo an unnecessary procedure. This is a safety problem since every time we puncture the skin of a patient, we risk introducing infection into their bloodstream. This book will also teach you about the order of draw, descriptions of veins, descriptions of patients, and a multitude of different scenarios. If you are beginning a career or are interested in beginning a career in phlebotomy, this book will give you a good foundation of knowledge to build upon with tangible experience.
    About the Author
MacKenna Balsewicz is a 20-year-old mother of one who has spent the last three years working as a phlebotomist at different professional facilities. She started her training at Biomat Plasma Center, where she gained the confidence and skill to draw blood and care for donors. After working at Biomat for 12 months, she transferred to Bryan Hospital to work in the laboratory department. She has fallen in love with performing phlebotomy in the hospital setting and now works at Nebraska Medicine, where she draws upwards of 60 people daily. Along with being a phlebotomist, she will be graduating from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in May of 2023 with her bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

Brought to you by Altrusian Grace Media and narrated by Matthew Schmitz. THE DEFINITIVE FLAT EARTH DOCUMENT! The unabridged and enhanced 2nd edition of Zetetic Astronomy, formulated in the 19th century by Samuel Rowbotham, presents a flat-earth cosmology grounded in direct sensory observation rather than theoretical abstraction. Rejecting Newtonian and Copernican astronomy, Rowbotham argued that the Earth is a flat, stationary plane with the Sun, Moon, and stars moving in circular paths above it, asserting that empirical evidence—such as the apparent flatness of horizons and the behavior of water surfaces—supports this model. The Zetetic method emphasizes skepticism toward authority and deductive reasoning, claiming truth arises only from firsthand, verifiable observation. This approach positioned itself as an “inquiry-based” science in opposition to what it viewed as speculative mathematics, laying the philosophical foundation for later flat-earth movements and epistemological distrust of institutionalized science.
