A fun, twisty woman sleuth mystery set in Edinburgh!

Fashion writer Amy Thornton has the fright of her life when she narrowly avoids being hit by a car.

The driver was being chased, and swerved to miss her only at the last second. He ends up in hospital.

Thinking she has uncovered a heinous plot she goes to the authorities. Yet her sleuthing does not impress no-nonsense Detective Inspector Russell McCord, who is reluctant to follow up on her wild speculations and won't, it seems, be charmed so easily.

But that changes when two dead bodies turn up, connected to the crash. Now Amy may become key to solving the affair.

A "Blue Carbuncle" is stolen from a hotel suite, and a former felon is soon arrested. However, an acquaintance of Holmes discovers the carbuncle in the throat of a Christmas goose. Holmes traces the owner of the goose, but soon determines that he was not the thief by offering him a replacement goose. The detective continues his search, first to an inn and then a dealer in Covent Garden. The dealer refuses to provide Holmes with information about the source of the goose, but Holmes observes another man trying to find the same information, and confronts him. The man, the head attendant at the hotel, confesses to his crime. Holmes allows him to remain free, arguing that prison could make him a hardened criminal later.

When reporter Amy Thornton probes the death of an investigative journalist, she has no idea how deep and dark the case will get . . .

Wherever there was trouble in the world, one would find Martha McGillivray. The celebrated journalist had a nose for rooting out corruption and a passion for sticking it to the man.

Unsurprisingly, then, eventually trouble finds her and she dies of Ricin poisoning whilst traveling on a train to Edinburgh.

Back from a spell on a punitive training course for middle-aged male dinosaurs, Detective Inspector Russell McCord is under pressure to crack the case quickly.

However, his superiors have forbidden all contact with the press. In particular magazine writer and amateur sleuth Amy Thornton, whom he's heavily leaned on in the past to help him.

Yet that won't stop Amy from doing some investigating of her own. In fact, she is keener than ever. Convinced she can throw light on the mysterious poisoning, she decides to follow her instincts in a race with McCord to find the culprit.

But being a step ahead of the detective also places her a step closer to danger.

YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES & JOHN WATSON
The case of the missing baby.
This completely new story I have written involves the 10 year old boys who will be the great detective Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson, his assistant, when they grow up, this is their formative years where they perfect their skills before adulthood on what my appear to be inconsequential subjects, but the principle remains the same.
This is just one of an extensive series I will be publishing as audio books in the very near future and I do hope you enjoy this first one, and its only $1.25 cents, all subsequent will remain at that price as I would not like price to be a barrier to your enjoyment.
I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes sets the scene, so to speak, a violin Holme's musical instrument of choice and is energetic and the closing music ends the tale on a more restrained mode and only about 1 minute.
The story itself runs to about 7 minutes 30 seconds and is of course a short story, it is read in my own voice.
The story involves the the disappearance of a baby, Albert just 2 months old, from his pram that Nanny Beatrice was responsible for. Albert was the son of the British Ambassador, Sir Eustace Carmichael, who lived in a magnificent Townhouse in Westminster. The baby was found hidden in a wardrobe upstairs to try and distract the Ambassador from his important work.
Needless to say Holmes solves the mystery, discovers baby Albert and is praised by Sir Eustace as being incredibly astute for his age.
The stories are designed to be entertaining to children of approximately the same age around 10 years old due to the characters involved.
I do hope you and you children, if applicable, enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!
