Summary

A Crisis Like No Other: Understanding and Defeating Global Warming couples engaging and creative storytelling with accurate details to explain global warming. It covers both the technical and human issues of global warming by addressing what's causing global warming, and why people don’t believe it exists. The book tells readers how to convince others that global warming is not only real, but life-threatening, and offers a clearly laid out path to solve it. The book is accurate and carefully researched, drawing on the author's thirty years studying the science of global warming, and the human psyche that surrounds it.

The author breaks down the subject into four parts, which can be thought of as four mini-books in one. The first part covers the psychology of global warming denial, how to defend ourselves against its lies and fake news, and how to convince others of global warming’s grave harm. The second part describes exactly what global warming is. The third answers the question what makes us so sure? Finally, the last part provides a road map showing us how to defeat global warming.

This book is comprehensive, fast paced, and easily accessible to readers from all walks of life. It provides an overview of everything one needs to know about global warming and, as such, is an excellent survey of global warming topics. In addition to being an easy and enjoyable read for the general public, A Crisis Like No Other: Understanding and Defeating Global Warming serves as a handy primer on climate change for environmental science classes.

In these highly competitive times and with so many technological advancements, it is impossible for any industry to remain isolated and untouched by innovations. In this era of digital economy, the banking sector cannot exist and operate without the various digital tools offered by the ever new innovations happening in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its sub-set technologies.
New technologies have enabled incredible progression in the finance industry. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) have provided the investors and customers with more innovative tools, new types of financial products and a new potential for growth.
According to Cathy Bessant (the Chief Operations and Technology Officer, Bank of America), AI is not just a technology discussion. It is also a discussion about data and how it is used and protected. She says, “In a world focused on using AI in new ways, we’re focused on using it wisely and responsibly.”

Since the time human beings took birth on the earth, tremendous changes have been observed in all phases of life. One such aspect was the phase of the technology itself. Technology has advanced itself beautifully and has made the work of humans easier. Like for instance, earlier people used to keep track of all the readings in the journal in handwritten format, but now there are many different types of computer applications available for doing the same. Similarly, primitive people made use of the bones and sticks to perform simple mathematical calculations, and now it’s just a calculator away, which you can find on your smartphones as well.
Computers form an integral part of our lifestyle. These are used for work purposes, entertainment purposes, gaming purposes, data storing purposes, file creating sorting and managing, and so on.
Earlier, the computers used to be big and occupied a lot of space and used to be very costly, could store only a minute amount of data, consumed a high amount of energy, and dissipated a large amount of heat. But, over time, as the technology evolved and the advancements took place, the size of the computer lessened, they began to be available at low prices in the market, energy consumption was reduced, heat dissipation was decreased, etc.
The computer will not be able to work until and unless it has been programmed.
Computer is defined as a programmable electronic device that intakes raw data as input and processes the information with the help of programs and gives the final result as output. Charles Babbage is called the 'Father of Computer". The first working mechanical computer was designed by Charles Babbage that was known as the Analytical Engine. Read-only memory was used as punch cards in this computer.

In the spirit of medieval writer Chaucer, all human activity lies within the artist’s scope, the History of Man Series uses medicine as a jumping off point to explore precisely that, all history, all science, all human activity since the beginning of time. The jumping off style of writing takes the reader, the listener into worlds unknown, always returning to base, only to jump off again. History of Man are stories and tales of nearly everything.
The Sixth History of Man is the last narrative in the History of Man Series that uses infection as the underlying foundation. The series will continue but use other disease platforms for jumping off. From a human infection perspective, this sixth book will visit with the King of Pop Michael Jackson, vitiligo and propofol, the famous and infamous sexually transmitted diseases—herpes, gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichomonas, HIV and the granddaddy of colorful stories, syphilis—with their very entertaining tales, a world of romance, suspense, and thrillers. We’ll hop from science to art to music, going back in time to the astronomy of the Persians, Syrians, the Greek Aristotle and on to Ptolemy, Copernicus and Kepler. Our travels will take us to the Renaissance of art and music, stopping along a few stations, such as da Vinci, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, and Monet. A discussion of why and how humans went from spoken language to written language is on our menu. We will pay homage with another visit with the First Viennese School, parse senility, delirium, and dementia and most assuredly discuss the women who helped build Johns Hopkins Hospital. OK Boomers! and the sociology of cohort generations will help complete this narrative.

"Machine Learning” In this captivating exploration, you'll traverse the ever-expanding realm of artificial intelligence and machine learning, guided by a comprehensive and insightful narrative.
From its origins in the visionary minds of early computer scientists to its current status as a driving force behind technological innovation, machine learning's evolution is vividly brought to life. Delve into the heart of supervised learning algorithms, where linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, support vector machines, and neural networks form the bedrock of predictive analytics.
Venturing deeper, the book unravels the mysteries of unsupervised learning, illuminating clustering techniques, dimensionality reduction, and the crucial task of anomaly detection. With clarity and precision, it demystifies the captivating world of reinforcement learning, painting a vivid picture of agents learning to navigate and excel within complex environments.
The journey wouldn't be complete without the profound influence of deep learning and neural networks. Traverse the landscapes of multilayer perceptrons, convolutional neural networks, recurrent neural networks, and generative adversarial networks, witnessing the power of AI to understand and create.
However, the book doesn't shy away from critical considerations. Ethical and responsible AI practices take center stage, addressing bias, fairness, explainability, and data privacy to ensure that machine learning remains a force for good. Practical wisdom awaits too, as the reader is led through a comprehensive machine learning workflow – from data collection to model deployment.
As the final chapters unfold, the horizon broadens to reveal the future frontiers of machine learning. Quantum machine learning and federated learning beckon as game-changers, and applications across domains like healthcare, finance, and more stand poised to revolutionize the world as we know it.
