Lorena, a scientist of extraordinary intelligence and determination, is the first to discover that she has been affected by the side effects of the experiment, which has given her new telepathic abilities. Aware of the danger this discovery could pose in the wrong hands, she decides to hide the truth from her sister Irina, Gemini's vice-president, a woman unlike herself and unscrupulous, driven by an insatiable thirst for power. The protagonists face not only the forces of nature, but also their inner demons. Against this extreme backdrop, the novel deals with universal themes such as the power of knowledge, which lights the way even in the darkest moments; the struggle against one's own limits, a relentless battle that defines the very essence of being human; and scientific ethics, which are put to the test when the thirst for knowledge clashes with the moral consequences of discoveries. The novel's characters, complex and deeply human, are forced to confront the consequences of their actions, in a continuous crescendo of tension.
