Sinopsis

Trees and Oxygen explores the vital role of trees in our planet's health, focusing on their function in oxygen production, carbon sequestration, and overall ecological balance. The book illuminates how trees use photosynthesis to convert sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide into oxygen and energy, a process essential for supporting life. It also examines how trees act as significant carbon sinks, absorbing atmospheric carbon and thereby mitigating climate change.

The book's approach is to build from foundational concepts in biology and ecology, offering clear explanations accessible to readers with varying scientific backgrounds. It progresses logically, first detailing photosynthesis and respiration, then analyzing trees as carbon sinks, and finally exploring broader ecological benefits. Unique data sources, such as long-term forest monitoring projects and isotopic analysis of tree rings, offer insights into historical carbon sequestration rates.

Ultimately, Trees and Oxygen underscores that trees are active agents in maintaining planetary health, and their conservation is crucial. This book will be a valuable resource for anyone interested in environmental science, forest conservation, and sustainable management.

Located in the heart of Western Europe since eternity, lies Germany bordered with Baltic, Rhine and the Alps from the north, west and south directions respectively. The east of Germany however, has no natural border which has caused much confusion in the history of Europe. It is a Sovereign state and has a federal parliamentary republic in the central-western Europe. The largest city and the capital of Germany is Berlin. Germany is also the second most famous human immigration destination after United States along with being the most populated member state of the European Union.
The Northern parts of Germany have been occupied by the Germanic Tribes since the ancient times. A certain region called Germania was recognised to be from before 100 AD. At the times of migration the Germanic Tribes expanded towards the Southern parts of Germany. In the advent of the 10th century the central territories of Germany had formed the Holy Roman Empire. 6 centuries later the Northern parts of Germany became the hub of Protestant Reformation.
Later in the year 1871 many of the German states united with the Prussians to form the German Empire. It was only after the World War I and the German Revolution which took place from 1918-1919 that the German Empire was substituted by Weimar Republic parliament. The institution of Dictatorship in the year 1933 was the reason for World War II and organised massacre. After a term of Allied occupation, two states namely, the German Democratic Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany, were founded. It was only in the year 1990 that the country was reunited.
Germany is a great power today, and has the world’s 4th largest economy. It is a global leader in various technological and industrial sectors along with being the world’s 3rd largest importer and exporter of goods. Today Germany has a high standard of living and known to be a developed country with a productive and skilled society. It supports, communal safety and health care system along with environment protection and free college education.
In this eBook we will learn about the history of Germany overall, how ancient it is and how it has come along all these years to stand where it is today.

Goddess Alpha: Directions Home is a textile compendium of embroidered images and stories about goddesses, beginning with Artemis, the virginal hunter, and progressing to the ostentatious Eos, the goddess of dawn, and Hecate, the healer. It concludes with Xihe, the mother of ten Suns (sons) who take turns bringing light to Earth, and the Zorya sisters, who are responsible for watching over the beast in the sky to prevent it from devouring the universe. Each of the 26 goddesses provides guidance on homing in on our direction in life, as well as on how to creatively undertake tasks of invention and inspiration. Furthermore, the stories of these goddesses lead to insights that help us discover our own soulful nature and the profound truths residing within our innermost being.

As American author and comedy-writer Gene Perret once wrote: Granddads are there to help the grandchildren get into mischief they haven't thought of yet! Some of the activities, antics (and mischief!) that todays grandparents used to get up to in their childhood seem somehow to have missed a generation and there are youngsters out there who may never have made a bow-and-arrow, flown a kite or gone pond-dipping.
The Dangerous Book for Granddads is full of ideas based on:Pastimes enjoyed when you were a child;Skills that you and the grandchildren can learn together;Activities where the grandchildren can teach you a thing or two!
With every page full of practical advice, not only will you be reminded of your childhood escapades, this book will give inspiration, stimulation and may possibly also cause perspiration as a result of some of the more strenuous suggestions!
