Summary

The first of the three ‘Great’ Popes, as listed in the ‘Annuario Pontificio’, Leo I served as Bishop of Rome from 440 until his death in 461. A Roman aristocrat and learned theologian, Leo famously convinced Attila the Hun to turn back from his invasion of Italy. He also issued the ‘Tome of Leo’, which was a major foundation to the debates of the Council of Chalcedon. Contributing significantly to the development of papal authority, his work helped popularise the definition of Christ’s being as the hypostatic union of two natures, divine and human. Delphi’s Ancient Classics series provides eReaders with the wisdom of the Classical world, with both English translations and the original Latin texts. This eBook presents Pope Leo I’s collected works, with illustrations, an informative introduction and the usual Delphi bonus material. (Version 1)

So many Christians today- unsure of who they are, have settled for a version of themselves that’s defined by society. They’ve missed the glorious adventure of what it means to discover who God says they are and desires them to be.
RADIANT is for anyone who’s ever been told that it’s better to hide than shine. It’s for the ones who've let fear pull a blanket over their faith. It’s for those who've held back, but yearn to break free. It’s for all the men and women who've wanted to step into more but have been stuck- questioning whether or not the world really needs their light. If this sounds familiar, then RADIANT is for you.
RADIANT starts by examining the areas where the light within you has been under attack and how the truth of your identity in Christ sparks the flame you need to shine. Join author Peyton Hoffman as she examines what it means to learn your true identity in Christ, become radiant, and keep your light burning in a world that’s growing increasingly dark.
Incorporating biblical truth, personal insights, testimonies, questions for individual reflection, prayers, and declarations, Peyton leads you back to Jesus to spark a fresh fire within your heart and fan the flame of your faith. There’s a remnant rising, on fire with the radiance of the glory of God. It’s time to start living into all you were created to be. It’s time to be unafraid to shine!

Few things bring more immediate scrutiny and impassioned angst among young adult Christians today than hearing the words “purity culture.” Serious flaws from purity culture deserve to be scrutinized, especially given its lasting negative effects on some raised in the movement. Many Christians today reject the movement—and all that it stood for—wholesale. However, we can’t ignore the clear sexual ethics of the Bible. Pure dives into the big picture of God’s design for men and women regarding sexuality, and seeks to reclaim one of the clearest teaching in the scriptures: the call to sexual purity. While purity culture gets the truth right, the approach and gospel elements it espouses are often wrong. Let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water, but rather celebrate God’s great design for marriage and the loving boundaries he has put in place for our joy, protection, and flourishing.

The kingdom of God is a beautiful revolution. Marked by the radical life, love, servanthood, and humility of Jesus, it stands in stark contrast to the values and ways of the world.Regrettably, many who profess to follow Christ have bought into the world’s methods, seeking to impose a sort of Christianized ethical kingdom through politics and control. In this illuminating sequel to his bestselling book The Myth of a Christian Nation, Dr. Gregory Boyd points us to a better way—a way of seeing and living that is consistent with the gospel of Jesus and his kingdom. Between the extremes of passivity on the one hand and political holy war on the other lies the radical, revolutionary path of imitating Jesus. In twelve areas ranging from racial and social issues to stewardship of the planet, this book will convince and inspire you to live a Christlike life of revolt and beauty—and it will help you attain a practical lifestyle of kingdom impact.
