Forallx is an introduction to sentential logic and first-order predicate logic with identity, logical systems that significantly influenced twentieth-century analytic philosophy. After working through the material in this book, a student should be able to understand most quantified expressions that arise in their philosophical reading. This book treats symbolization, formal semantics, and proof theory for each language. The discussion of formal semantics is more direct than in many introductory texts. Although forall x does not contain proofs of soundness and completeness, it lays the groundwork for understanding why these are things that need to be proven.

In an era of unprecedented access to knowledge, why does ignorance thrive? Why do conspiracy theories, science denial, and anti-expert sentiment dominate public discourse? And how did we reach a point where misinformation spreads faster than facts, and critical thinking is treated as an elitist threat?
From the war on expertise and the rise of conspiracy thinking to the manipulation of public opinion through propaganda and technology, this book reveals the deep-rooted causes of our current crisis. More importantly, it offers a roadmap to reclaim reason, evidence-based discourse, and the intellectual curiosity necessary for a thriving society.
The Cult of Ignorance is a thought-provoking exploration of the forces fueling modern anti-intellectualism. Drawing from history, psychology, media analysis, and political strategy, this book unpacks how ignorance is not merely a lack of knowledge but a weaponized ideology—one that serves powerful interests, weakens democracy, and threatens societal progress.

Europe’s attempts to appease him, most notably at Munich in 1938, failed, as Nazi Germany swallowed up Austria and Czechoslovakia by 1939. Italy was on the march as well, invading Albania in April of 1939. The straw that broke the camel's back, however, was Germany's invasion of Poland on September 1 of that year. Two days later, France and Great Britain declared war on Germany, and World War II had begun in earnest. Of course, as most people now know, the invasion of Poland was merely the preface to the Nazi blitzkrieg of most of Europe, which included smashing successes in Denmark, Belgium, and France by the summer of 1940.
In the warm predawn darkness of June 22, 1941, 3 million men waited along a front hundreds of miles long, stretching from the Baltic coast of Poland to the Balkans. Ahead of them in the darkness lay the Soviet Union, its border guarded by millions of Red Army troops echeloned deep throughout the huge spaces of Russia. This massive gathering of Wehrmacht soldiers from Adolf Hitler's Third Reich and his allied states – notably Hungary and Romania – stood poised to carry out Operation Barbarossa, Hitler's surprise attack against the country of his putative ally, Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin.
The Soviets were so caught by surprise at the start of the attack that the Germans were able to push several hundred miles into Russia across a front that stretched dozens of miles long, reaching the major cities of Leningrad and Sevastopol in just three months. The first major Russian city in their path was Minsk, which fell in only six days. In order to make clear his determination to win at all costs, Stalin had the three men in charge of the troops defending Minsk executed for their failure to hold their position. This move, along with unspeakable atrocities by the German soldiers against the people of Minsk, solidified the Soviet will. In the future, Russian soldiers would fight to the death rather than surrender.

This work provides an in-depth and critical analysis of the interrelationships between neoliberalism, globalization, and the resurgence of nationalism in the 21st century. It explores the origins and theoretical foundations of neoliberalism, highlighting the contributions of influential theorists such as Friedrich Hayek and Milton Friedman, and examines its political rise through the administrations of Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan. The book investigates how economic globalization has expanded neoliberal policies, affecting both developed and developing economies, and analyzes the social and cultural consequences, including the exacerbation of inequality and the crisis of the welfare state. As neoliberal policies advanced, rising inequality and social dissatisfaction fueled the resurgence of nationalist and populist movements in various regions of the world. The book offers a detailed study of these movements, analyzing their causes and implications in the global context. Additionally, it discusses the tensions between globalist and nationalist ideologies, addressing issues such as protectionism, economic nationalism, and the challenges to neoliberal free trade. In the final chapter, the work proposes new global governance models aimed at reconciling national demands with global needs in a context of increasing ideological polarization. With a comprehensive and critical approach, this book is essential reading for academics, researchers, and anyone interested in understanding the contemporary challenges shaping global politics and economics.
