  The Hanuman Chalisa is a Vedic devotional hymn (stotra) in praise of Hanuman authored by the poet sage Tulsi Das. The word "ch?l?s?" means the number forty in Sanskrit, as the Hanuman Chalisa has forty verses. Lord Hanuman is a great devotee of Sri Ram and one of the central characters in the epic, Ramayan. Hanuman is also an incarnation of Shiva. The qualities of Hanuman - his strength, courage, wisdom, celibacy, devotion to Lord Ram, and the many names by which he is known are all in the Hanuman Chalisa. Devotional recitation of this sacred prayer is done by millions every day. 
   
  Hanumanji is the greatest devotee of Sri Ram and an incarnation of the mighty Lord Shiva. He is therefore the epitome of ultimate devotion manifested with its full glory unchallenged in all times and places. By the power of his devotion to Sita Ram, he easily achieved supreme status as the perfect devotee and servitor. 
   
  Lord Hanuman is the eternal link between all devotees and Ram whom he serves, inspires, and protects. By honoring Hanuman one is blessed with all kinds of siddhis including power, valor, prosperity, and devotion. 
   
  Reciting or hearing the Hanuman Chalisa infuses one with unlimited energy and prana. This sacred mantra also increases a person's resilience and they emerge victorious in every challenging situation.

Some big hitters will be considered, from polio and the famous celebrities that had it, through fifty shades of hepatitis, rabies and the hair of the dog, and the monkey business of HIV and AIDS. Leaving viruses, we’ll delve into a study of parasites, including the parasite of all parasites, Sigourney Weaver’s alien. Opening up a can-of-worms we’ll launch a nerd rumble: who would win between Weaver’s Alien and Schwarzenegger’s Predator. Other topics include the sociology of a social death preceding the actual death, the sociology of sexual cannibalism, and the sociology of colors, not just of yellow fever, but of other emotions under the rainbow, hopefully not making you feel positively blue. On the science side we’ll flip the script on the infamous Krebs cycle fleeced of the boring jargon that usually flows from the lecture hall and our road will scrutinize nuclear bombs, nuclear footballs and weapons of mass destruction, the secret of Ondine’s curse, and lessons in global warming.

  This book is about a Black man's experience of reading Mark Twain's classic Adventures of Huckleberry Finn for the first time while in graduate school. The story captures the author's emotional struggle with Twain's use of the racial epithet more than two hundred times in the text. 
   
   
   
  This is a courageous memoir that wrestles with the historic stain of racism and the ongoing impact of racist language in postmodern society. The book is about Harris's flashbacks, conversations, and dilemmas spawned by use of the epithet in a classroom setting where the author was the only Black person. His diary-like reflections reveal his skill as a keen reader of culture and literature. In this book, Harris challenges his instructor and classmates and inspires listeners to redress the long history of American racism and white supremacy bound up with the N-word. He reflects on how current Black artists and others use the word in a different way with the intention of empowering or claiming the term. But Harris is not convinced that even this usage does not further feed the word's racist roots. 
   
   
   
  Healing racial division begins with understanding the deep impact our words can have to tear down or to heal. This book invites the listener into this important conversation.
