About the Authors
Peter MorlionAfter obtaining a master’s degree in Political Science, decided to become a software developer instead. He received his bachelor’s degree in Software Development in 2008, but had already found a job as a developer in 2007.

Since then, Peter worked with a wide range of programming languages, including VB.NET, C#, JavaScript (front-end and back-end), TypeScript (front-end and back-end), Python, PHP and Java.

As a software development consultant since 2015, Peter has been helping organizations reduce their technical debt and increase the stability of their systems. He has done so in different architectures (monolith, SOA, microservices, and serverless), always focusing on the quality of the system.

In addition to his professional work, Peter organizes a local developer’s meetup group and is active in the parent-teacher association of his daughter’s school and the local sea scouts group.

He lives in Bruges, Belgium, with his wife, daughter, dog, and two cats.

    Extinctions - How Life Survives...

    Michael J. Benton

Cutting-edge techniques across biology, chemistry, physics, and geology have transformed our understanding of the deep past, including the discovery of a previously unknown mass extinction. This compelling evidence, revealing a series of environmental crises resulting in the near collapse of life on Earth, illuminates our current dilemmas in exquisite detail.

Beginning with the oldest, Professor Michael J. Benton takes us through the "big five" die outs: the Late Ordovician, which set the evolution of the first animals on an entirely new course; the Late Devonian, apparently brought on by global warming; the cataclysmic End-Permian, also known as the Great Dying, which wiped out over 90 percent of all life on Earth; the newly discovered Carnian Pluvial Event; and the End-Cretaceous asteroid. He examines how global warming, acid rain, ocean acidification, erupting volcanoes, and meteorite impact have affected conditions on Earth, and how life survived, adapted, and evolved.

In Extinctions, listeners will learn about revolutionary new tools used to uncover ancient extinction events and processes in forensic detail, and how scientists are improving our understanding of the deep past. New research allows us to link long-ago upheavals to crises in our current age, the Anthropocene, with important consequences for us all.

Though most organizations are placing modest bets on artificial intelligence, there is a world-class group of companies that are going all-in on the technology and radically transforming their products, processes, strategies, customer relationships, and cultures. Though these organizations represent less than 1 percent of large companies, they are all high performers in their industries. They have better business models, make better decisions, have better relationships with their customers, offer better products and services, and command higher prices.

Written by bestselling author Tom Davenport and Deloitte's Nitin Mittal, All-In on AI looks at artificial intelligence at its cutting edge from the viewpoint of established companies like Anthem, Ping An, Airbus, and Capital One. Filled with insights, strategies, and best practices, All-In on AI also provides leaders and their teams with the information they need to help their own companies take AI to the next level.

If you're curious about the next phase in the implementation of artificial intelligence within companies, or if you're looking to adopt this powerful technology in a more robust way yourself, All-In on AI will give you a rare inside look at what the leading adopters are doing, while providing you with the tools to put AI at the core of everything you do.

Diabetic symptoms are not always easy to identify. Type 2 diabetes, type 1 diabetes, prediabetes, and gestational diabetes, all stem from the same cause but the medical community places a subcategory to help them take into consideration other age-related issues that might be present. All these signs of diabetes can be found in this book, and explain the reasons why they are happening, so you can better understand how to respond to this diagnosis. Basically, the pancreas has lost the ability to convert sugars into energy causing the diabetic to often start taking insulin shots.

Diabetes is a very serious disease that can bring a lifetime of medical issues, including death, so understanding how it got started, how to prevent it, and in some cases reverse it, is vital if you have been diagnosed. Neuropathy, cardio-vascular issues, blindness, and sores that won't heal can often be corrected providing you have the correct information and learn how to reverse existing symptoms. However, under no circumstances should this book be used to replace our doctor's advice. Everyone is unique, and he will have more information about your personal condition than I do, so learn how to respond to diabetes, and once your chemistry is back in balance, reverse symptoms, and let your doctor decide if it is time to discontinue any treatments.

    Chemistry - Reactions Compounds...

Chemistry is the branch of science that focuses on the study of matter and its interactions with other matter and energy. It is often called the central science because it bridges other natural sciences, such as physics, biology, and environmental science, helping to explain the properties and behavior of substances that make up the world around us.

At its core, chemistry explores atoms and molecules, which are the building blocks of matter. These particles interact in various ways to form different types of substances, including solids, liquids, and gases. By studying these interactions, chemists can predict the behavior of materials, develop new substances, and create innovative solutions to complex problems.

The field of chemistry is divided into several branches, each focusing on different aspects of matter. Organic chemistry, for example, deals with the structure and reactions of carbon-containing compounds, which form the basis of life. Inorganic chemistry, on the other hand, focuses on non-carbon compounds and materials like metals, salts, and minerals. Physical chemistry explores the energy changes and dynamics of chemical reactions, while analytical chemistry involves techniques to determine the composition of substances. Biochemistry blends chemistry with biology to study the molecular mechanisms that underpin living organisms.
